When I was 15 years old I typed out the lyrics for my father. He loved this song so much he rewrote it for the Highland Bagpipes. When he passed in 2013 my mother had his wallet and pulled out the piece of paper with the lyrics that I had typed out for him. For 20+years he keeped that in his wallet. We played this song at our wedding reception in June 1985. We gathered all of our friends and family in a circle around us as we prepared to leave on our honeymoon. Still married in 2019 and this song has such a special meaning for us, as do many of the ABBA songs. Still surrounded by many good friends. We can face life together, the way old friends do!

A sad update. My wife passed away this year from esophageal cancer, one day short of our 37th anniversary. In my grief, I am surrounded by many good friends who have been there with us through the times of joy and times of sorrow. This song now takes on new meaning for me.

I am guessing "words of violence" could be translated as "angry words). It is a horrid world, no question but it would be nice to think you could keep friends till old age and you might bring one another comfort.

Absolutely!!!! When the ABBA avatar tour finally begins, this sing must be the encore, the final word, with it a message of hope for world peace. I could be dreaming but I think this song and ABBA can actually bring about world peace. They can do what no world leader can do..Bring people of all colour, class and religion together.
