Yes Abbey, Please check out Amberlynn's channel. Your imput on the cycle of binge eating and obesity from a diaticians perspective would be intresting. Amberlynn has received alot of backlash over the years for her weight gain- especially as her channel started as a weight loss journey. I think Amberlynn has good intentions, but consistantly fails and turns to binging. Her knowledge of nutrition appears poor and she consistently starts new diets with weight watches and optavia, which I think just sets her up to fail. She is now over 500 pounds....

wow some of these comments about Sarah are awful. as someone who has BEEN watching Sarah's videos for years now, and can therefore give you a rounded opinion, not just based on one video, let me just clear up a few things here. - she doesn't just live on fruit n nut mix, smoothies and chocolate..... that's a plain lie. she is Paleo BASED but still eats food outside of the Paleo label. she is Paleo based BC after experimenting with veganism, keto, this is what works best for her. y'all are plain ignorant and tbh it's downright a joke if you think Sarah could live like that? she eats salads yes, but she also makes soups, curries, pastas etc (buckwheat, quinoa pasta). - she is gluten and dairy free bc her body is INTOLERANT. she literally gets sick if she does. She's working with her body and its restrictions. Making versions of whatever food she wants to eat, but with options that work better for her body. you're not gonna force a diabetic to eat sugar 24/7? - obsessed with getting her pre-pregnancy body back. Man foh. there is literally NOTHING wrong with wanting to be healthy and having goals for your body. She repeatedly says in every video how much she loves her body and how thankful she is for her pregnancy. Yeah she wants abs again, but she's being completely balanced about it, she's focused on being healthy for her baby. The abs will come when they come. Which again, there's nothing wrong with wanting that. Not her fault if y'all disregard what she says bc you insist on hating her. - obsession with abs,,,,, a few years ago, she did have an unhealthy attitude which she admits. She also repeats how she could never and would never go back to that. she has a much more wholesome and healthy attitude now. As for the rest, maybe try this thing called a sense of humour ;) Y'all are honestly choosing half truths and making up lies to hate on a girl just trying her best to be her best. you don't have to do everything she does, it's the essence of being a human being, we have consciousness to make our own decisions. You don't have to watch Sarah's channel, but please stop spreading lies about her. Go live your own healthy, best life based on what works for you.

I really like how you pointed out the diet culture language. so many healthy youtubers, vegan youtubers, recovery youtubers, etc claim to have a healthy, healed relationship with food and eat whatever they want... and coincidentally it's all healthy (or healthier versions) and they srill use terms like "clean, good/bad" etc
@hannahashley28825 жыл бұрын
Cleaning Up elaborate more. I don’t understand what you mean
@Flareontoast5 жыл бұрын
@Cleaning Up I think op means that this dichotomy of "bad food" and "good food" are damaging to ANYONE and those who eat healthily should not keep using these terms especially if they are influencers. I understand that it sometimes helps people recovering from EDs, but ultimately the healing process should hopefully about not assigning labels to food that could ultimately damage one's mindset.
@vivsssss5 жыл бұрын
But, I mean, there are some foods that are not the best in terms of nutritional value, I think it all goes on what she is saying it’s “bad” or “good” not that there are bad and good foods
@LivelyDays235 жыл бұрын
Cleaning Up I understand what you’re saying, however to my understanding it’s more about them giving labels to foods that aren’t obviously unhealthy. Some influencers will completely ban certain foods from their diets for “reasons”. That’s not healthy and it’s not a good mindset. Some foods are good and some foods you shouldn’t eat too often, but restricting the amount of fruits/vegetables/nuts/etc. because someone told you it’ll make you gain weight isn’t a good message to send

Sarah’s day is dangerous it is diet culture but hidden behind health and “intuitive eating” she also gives medical advice on cancer! 😩 I think it’s easy to watch one video and think she is great but when you follow her for a long time and see everything it is unhealthy and obsessive - getting abs, excluding food groups, obsessed with getting her pre baby body back a few weeks after giving birth. Body updates straight after giving birth! Always obsessing over her diet and how much she has eaten. Those are just a few examples.
@JakeLivesOnAMountain5 жыл бұрын
Not only does she promote powders excessively, but she relies on them as her main source of calories, nutrients and protein. It is not healthy at all. She has the worst relationship with food. Just recently she shamed Kurt for buying a gelato and said she would make her own 'healthy alternative at home.' That's not healthy and it's not balanced. Imagine never being able to go out and share a treat with your significant other. Not only this, but some of the sorbets the gelato shop sells probably have less sugar, preservatives and artificial sweeteners then the healthy treat she would have made at home using powders and supplements.

I don't know the science behind what it does, but I can tell you that I did not think I had any real issues with digestion, I got it for my skin, but when she claims it improves digestion and helps settle a gurgly stomach and all that, I 100% agree. I find my food digests so much better if I have this daily, I didn't think it did much until I stopped using it for a couple of days and I noticed I didn't feel as great when eating or in between meals. I also find I have a little more energy too, which I believe is from the beetroot powder (learnt from podcasts so don't quote me). And as for my skin, it has helped with that too, specifically in terms of a glow and all over radiance to it. I have also found my acne has settled and is less inflamed when I use this daily. Again, not sure how it works and this of course is in conjunction with other things I eat or skincare routine, but it is definitely worth it in my opinion.

I've been trying to find a youtuber that is evidence based and nutrition based that really reviews what youtubers say. I'm studying nutrition in college right now and have noticed a trend in non-science based recommendations for foods all throughout youtube. Thank you for being thorough in your process of educating your subscribers, just hit subscribe right now.

@chandraheidel3555 жыл бұрын
@@CinthyaOlivaresR I'm very aware of the way I clean, lotions, hairspray etc. I'm pretty minimalistic. As far as food, I follow a vegan diet. I agree with Abbey, the water and your body detox, the lemon I'm not so sold on. It's acidic, but does the opposite in the body by alkalizing it, so I've been taught. I just don't know how good drinking alkaline water is. Alot of these people advertising alkaline water products have had gut issues.

I wish you were on instagram. I get caught up looking at dieting related content (which is annoyingly promoted to me by the instagram algorithm.) recovering from an ED, seeing such a positive relationship/attitude to food would be so refreshing for my insta feed. anyway love your vids, love your energy xx

Emma Hamley I would recommend going on an instagram cleanse or even restricting yourself to instagram 1 or 2 times per day; I tried this and it honestly helped me to 1) be more present and 2) avoid “diet” and disordered content

i love Sarah! I agree that she gives me energy from just watching her videos. So positive and sincere. Of course, any human (not just influencer) is not perfect and one day of eating changes each day. However, I think she gives great suggestions and ultimately reminds her followers to listen to their bodies and eat what is right for them. SO few "influencers" do that.

Thanks for your level headed thoughts! I do really enjoy her channel but a few things just drive me crazy! She's always calling her treats "healthy" just because they're gluten and dairy free... but that doesn't innately make something healthy or unhealthy! She also always calls recipes "sugar free" when she means "refined sugar free", it's a small thing but it really bugs me haha. Also, not sure she does this as much anymore but seems like she would always brag and talk up how much she could eat, but still have abs. Great that her body is built like that but I feel like it's encouraging unhealthy expectations for most people!

Sarah seems to be doing what works for her and enjoying her food. I watched a few of her videos back when she was eating more Paleo style, and it felt too restrictive for me personally. I'm glad she's no longer on the Paleo or vegan trains, and has found a balance that's sustainable and works for her.

I'm not vegan or anything, but I love her shortcuts and seeing how she cooks. I make a fairly healthy ramen with beef, onions and green onions, spinach, and eggs. The thing that makes it less great is salt, but I try to use less salty soy sause. It's a family favorite though. I put spinach/dark greens in almost everything.

i read some comments from women who had cervical dysplasis saying it's no big deal and it usually goes away after treatment and that she's making too much of a big deal out of it. it usually goes away on itself if it's a mild case. i highly doubt her new diet had to do with it going away.

Smoothies are nice and everything but I don't get the appeal of all these powders. Why would someone who is looking for a more healthy (or in some cases more environmentally friendly) way to eat want to use a whole laboratory full of powders? Some supplements, okay, maybe one vitamin pill a day or something, sure. But when they start mixing up three different powders it looks more like food for astronauts than anything else. The rest looked very tasty!

My mother was a dietitian, her specialty was pregnant I nursing women and children under 5, she worked for WIC. She always believed in colorful plates and balanced eating, not forcing kids to clean their plates, but to let them eat intuitively (with some education and training as needed). She passed in February and you make me happy someone still believes in balance and healthy eating, not just fad diets.

For the spinach, massaging it with lemon or lime juice(and salt) helps neutralize the oxalic acid, which will then help absorb minerals like calcium. Maybe she meant that instead of the massing helping with digestion, because you're right, it doesn't have a tough cellular structure that needs breaking down like kale or other cabbage family members. It will also keep the spinach from giving that funny feeling on your teeth that you get if you've ever eaten spinach leaves as is, and unless if it's sitting there for a long time in a lot of watery stuff, it shouldn't get soggy. I've worked for a few years as an organic vegan personal chef and I've always intuitively coated/massaged spinach leaves well with a dressing(ie: Korean buckwheat noodle salad), and most restaurants, with the exception of those build your own salad bowl places, will have the leaves well coated, so that they are almost half-wilted and very bright green.
