Paula’s choice has a spf 50 lip balm. It’s in a regular chapstick container but no sunscreen smell or taste. Just simple, basic, and moisturizing. I did also buy the Cay skin one in the red color for a little extra color this summer. Can’t wait to use both!

My holy grail lip spf is Brush on Block in the color fig. It’s my perfect my lips but better color and has a beautiful lip oil feel and look. It’s mineral spf so no yucky taste or irritation. The coral and nude colors aren’t my favorite but LOVE the fig. I hope they never stop selling it

This is so exciting abbey thank you for making it! I have one small request: I know it might not be as aesthetic, but do you think you could do your little color scales for these videos on a range from like red to green or green to red instead of skin colors? The skin colors tend to get confusing for me and I don't love that "good" or "bad" ratings are associated with skin tones. Also it would help because some of the scales go from bad to good and some go from good to bad. Would just be easier to understand overall. Thank you you're amazing!!

Cotz lip balm SPF 45, lightly tinted, is a great one too. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, active ingredients. Water resistant for 80 minutes.

I’ve been using a revlon lip balm spf 20 that I bought at target. It makes my lips shine, it’s smooth and soft and easy to apply. It smells amazing like tropical or coconut smell. It’s very moisturizing as well. It is in my to go bag always!

Just for anyone who isn’t aware, oxybenzone (like the one in the aquaphor lip spf) can cause allergic reactions and really swell those lips up! I personally only like physical filters for lip products bc I feel like anything with chemical like avobenzone I can always taste it so bad!!! I love the colorescience and also Jane iredale makes yummy lip balm spf!

I’m always on the hunt for a good, affordable lip sunscreen that doesn’t leave a chemical aftertaste. I’m also not a fan of the chapstick style sunscreens either. No lasting power and I find they tend to leave my lips feeling dry. Thanks for giving us some more options to try out😊💗

Great video!! I think you’d really like the MD Solar Sciences spf lip balm. Some of their tinted ones have pretty good pigmentation but they also have a clear. It’s not super glossy but it feels conditioning to me. No SPF taste or any other flavor in my experience.

Hi Abbey I have used the Ultrasun spf lip balm (is available in a 30 or 50 spf) for many years every summer. It doesn't taste bad, is fragrance free and is conditioning on the lips. I wear it under lipstick or on it's own (it's clear without any tint). It's in a stick format and isn't greasy/slimy. It can also be used around the eyes at the beach as it doesn't migrate. For me it's a summer staple and I haven't tried anything else I like better. I have very reactive skin and it doesn't bother my skin at all (it's a hybrid spf). I understand it's probably not easily available in the US, but as with most European spf's contains modern filters and has less potential for irritation (it's a Swiss brand and I live in the UK). Even with my rosacea and eczema prone skin I tolerate Ultrasun on my skin as my daily spf and the lip balm is no exception. I'm sure there are probably a ton of spf lip products from Korea etc that are probably also really good, but I trust this brand and have no need to stray to other things. I would say I still feel it for a couple of hours, but advise reapplying after eating etc. best wishes.

I hope I'm not the only one who is super sad that Vanicream discontinued their lip SPF. It made my lips so soft. I honestly find Sun Bum's mineral lip spf much more conditioning than the flavored balms, plus I find the smell of the flavors over powering.

Blistex 5 star lip protection! It does feel nice and thick on the lips, which I like but others may not. It's clear with no shine and doesn't feel like it's constantly melting.

My top three favorites are Blistex 5 Star Lip Protection SPF 30, great for everyday, Paula’s Choice Lip Balm SPF 50 perfect for summer, and La Roche Posay Anthelios Lip Stick SPF 50, a bit lighter weight so it’s nice when you done need a conditioning lip balm. None of them taste like sunscreen at all.

Sun Bum Signature Lip spf 30 is a favorite for me!!! It’s a zinc based spf so no aftertaste (slight white cast) and some that I’ve bought have that granular surface you have to break through but it feels super nourishing on the lips which is great considering it’s zinc!!

Granules from Goop: Comes from the shea butter; it's finicky. Needs to be formulated with great care or it gets granules. Company wants the prsstige of shea butter, but doesn’t take the time to formulate properly for a nice product.

I love the Black Girl Sunscreen lip oil, but you're right about the sunscreen aftertaste, which is wild because the initial taste is a slight vanilla. However, once it's on your lips long enough to start slowly sliding into the interior of your mouth, the vanilla taste gets slightly overpowered by this mystery chemical taste. I'd love for them to release a new and improved version where they flavor bomb the formula with a strong flavor oil that can dominate the chemical aftertaste. Maybe something strong like a jolly rancher flavor: (I know you said you hate the following) watermelon jolly rancher or green apple jolly rancher perhaps. 👀

When she says “it lasts” I think it’s just setting down like typical sunscreen. I think of lip sunscreen just like I think of the sunscreen I put on my face…I want it to protect my skin but I don’t really want to see or feel it. If I want shine or color, I’ll put actual makeup on top of it.

I use Blistex chapstick style spf and its amazing. Its chemical but smells like a tropical paradise. Kind of pineapple coconut flavored. Super moisturizing and shiny on the lips. Very cheap, too!

Highly under-rated spf lip balm and one that checks all the boxes except it doesn't have high shine like a lip oil would, is O'keefe's lip balm spf unscented. You can't tell there's any spf in it and it has ridiculously good ingredients at an unrealistically inexpensive pricepoint. If you guys want to check all the boxes, but want something with shine, just apply right over this lip balm, I've worn everything under the sun (pun intended) over this spf lip balm with no issues, it's actually great for lip prep and not just for spf purposes. Hope this helps someone! It's a holy grail for me.

Just watching now and browsed the list. Supergoop has a new lip gloss out call Lip Screen Shine and it is SPF 40. It feels super nice on the lips. There may be a very very faint scent but I have to get right up to the wand to barely smell it. I don’t really taste anything from it either. It has nice slip, fantastic shine and I just love it so far. Feels very moisturizing as well. I would recommend.

The Sun Bum SPF chapstick in watermelon made my lips feel super dry, and I definitely wasn’t a fan of the greasy feeling. Aquaphor has always been my go-to (I’ve never noticed any taste), but I’ve definitely been curious about the Cay Skin product. The rose color looks so pretty!

My favorite is the colorscience sunforgettable total protection color balm. I have it in 4 colors and they all look good on me, I've gifted it as well and they match many skin tones. It's also chemical-free sunscreen, you should give it a try! I haven't tried the colorscience lip oil that you reviewed, the champagne color looks amazing, I'll have to try it

I feel like the O'Keeffe's Lip Repair SPF35 lip balm gets overlooked WAY too much. It's my HG lip balm. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, conditions my lips, layers well under lipstick, lasts a fairly long time, and doesn't have a nasty aftertaste.

O’keefes lip repair spf 35 is a really nice chapstick type product. I’m very sensitive to the sunscreen taste, and I don’t taste it in this one. Also very moisturizing.

The Sun Bum Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm is a zinc oxide based sunscreen lip product and is water resistant 80 minutes. They also have a Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm which is similar to the Signature lip balm but is fragrance free and doesn't say it's water resistant. They are both 8% zinc oxide. Idk if they leave a white residue on your lips but there is a chance of that.

Highly recommend trying the Hello Sunday The One For Your Lips - lip balm: SPF 50. It’s UK based so it’s kinda hard to get in the US. I get mine from Cult Beauty. I love the newer sunscreen filters and has been my go to for over a year.

I believe Cay Skin did not put zinc oxide in theirs because they emphasize having inclusive products available that can work on darker pigmented skin, and want to avoid white casts from zinc oxide

Neutrogena makes a colored lip balm with spf 30. It feels moisturizing, has a slight sheen balm finish, good color payoff and has a faint fruit smell. I get the berry pink color.

Oh awesome!! I just bought the Colorescience Sunforgettable Lip Shine😃 Also ordered the Brush On Block Protective Lip Oil. I hope the taste and feel is good, because all the others I’ve tried so far are drying and/or horrible in taste😩 (Colorescience Total Protection Color Balm tastes okay, but it’s a strong color. Like a long lasting lipstick. I do like it though, but it doesn’t feel hydrating.)

PSA oxybenzone can cause photoallergic reactions meaning it can cause an allergic reaction when exposed to the sun. Several dermatologists have recommended avoiding that particular filter. Doctorly has reviewed the aquaphor lip balm for this reason.

You can also just use a sunscreen stick if you are using one to reapply. The Korean ones are very sheer.

I love the Colorescience lip shines too, but hate that they are so expensive. I’ve been on a mineral lip SPF quest. I like the sun bum mineral chapstick but it does leave a white cast. The Vanicream tube one is about the same. Cotes has one tinted beige but it is very drying and the color is weird for me. I just got some new Coola mineral lip spf that comes in a few colors, the colors are as opaque as a lipstick, not sheer. They are not shiny but I haven’t decided if it is too drying yet. I saw that Burt’s Bees has come out with some tinted mineral lip SPF but haven’t tried them yet.

This video is so on time, i was just looking at lip spf yesterday , and several of this were added to my list or purchased yesterday. Some of the spf like product i like are the Jack Black -Intense Therapy Spf 25 (I bought the Shea butter version yesterday and i love it), Hello Sunday - the one that for the lips spf 50+ (my al time favorite lip), Sun sense spf 50+ (2nd Favorite), Sun Bum - Signature spf 30 best mineral I've found, O'Keefe -Lip Repair spf 35, and good old faithful Chapstick spf 15. I'm still trying more but these are the best imo because they are very very moisturizing and have little to-no sunscreen taste. P.S. the Coola doesn't click, you twist it back on.

Anything with oxybenzone- this is a very common photo allergen! Aka, when exposed to the sun, a lot of people have allergic reactions and get bad skin burns as a result! Doctorly talked about it on one of their podcasts.

Have you tried the one from Burt’s Bees? It’s mineral sunscreen, has a choice of pink or berry colour, and lasts a decent amount of time !

Cay Skin SPF lip balm is the GOAT (in my opinion) ,that's why it won a beauty award. I do agree it does sting at first, but I put up with it.

Blistex Ultra SPF50+ is my HG lip sunscreen. It uses the newer more stable UV filters and it is very conditioning to the lips. It's available in the EU and AU.

Revlon has a tinted lip balm runs $6-7 and they have four shades. From clear, peachy, berry, red and a clear glossy. No after taste and it is broad spectrum.

The Sunbum Mineral is one of my favorite SPF lip balms. Jack Black also has a good one.

Omg I CANNOT stand the sun bum chap stick😭 the aftertaste and the meltiness together was a recipe for disaster. I felt like it was in my mouth all day long! I tried to love it lol

Mineral lip sunscreens taste waaaaaaaay better than chemical sunscreens. Two I recommend are Babo Botanicals Lip Tint SPF 15 in Wild Rose and W3LL People Lip Butter SPF 15 tinted balm in Peach - They are both mineral sunscreens, very smooth, creamy/ buttery and conditioning, taste kind of cocobuttery/coconutty, and lovely tints (I mix them both for the perfect peachy pink nude shade). 👍

The only lip sunscreen I ever used was the Japanese Melty Kiss matcha ones, which I think has SPF 50 in it and it is only like £4, so a bargain. I like the flavours of them, the matcha is my fave though
