I am thinking about moving to Long Beach, CA. Are there jobs for container haulers in that area? I don't mean union jobs where you have to win a lottery. But for port truck drivers? Thanks!

@jarmelingram18325 жыл бұрын
They're in high demand especially if you have your own rig. Also make sure you get your "TWIC" card you'll need it to enter the ports. Guys telling me they're making $1000+ a day pending on the loads.

Great!! It's ALWAYS good to see automation & corporate greed take jobs away from people. The American way!!
@Eviscerati0n Жыл бұрын
Yes, but it's better dealing with those ghetto security guards and clerks, not to mention the entitlement from crane operators, and disrespect truckers have to endure along with threats of being banned from the port. It's just overall better for the terminal to save money and for us not to deal with emotional people who have irrational trajectory's triggering there attitutdes.. we just want to get in and out.. clerks and longshoreman's want to feel important but were all replaceable, unless you have a real educational background but most ppl in the ports live middle class lives and rather work than learn.

What do you expect when people constantly go on strike, that can cripple the US. When the economy is absolutely horrible, you don't make it worse by asking for an increase in pay, you be thankful you have a job and wait to strike for that raise when the economy gets better.

Job killers, and way LESS PRODUCTIVE THAN HUMAN OPERATED TERMINALS. We can go green, all electric equipment, and preserve jobs with human operators...much more productive and agile.
@Lacheyenona725 жыл бұрын
Nope they are not less productive they are waaaaaay more productive than union runned ports i go to this port often i was just there last night and it only took me 35 mins to terminate my empty and to get my loaded container i also went APL port and it took me 4hrs just to get a loaded container!!! So I support 100% automation!!!
