When I worked on a yacht that was in the Bahamas doing charters, we had a very elderly gentleman that was the grandfather of the primary. He couldn't go out fishing because of his back, but he still wanted to fish. At night was his favorite time, so since I used to work on private fishing yachts, I would stand out there with him on the swim platform and we would fish for hours. Sitting in our chairs with the underwater lights on catching grouper, some parrotfish, and a few barracudas. It was awesome to sit out there with no lights around and watch the big fish come pop bait fish off the top. We told tons of fishing stories and he woukd drink his whiskey and coke while I just drank Coke. Normally I was always in charge of the kids while they were outside, but this time I was with him. One night we were cruising from one island to another and we were trolling some lures off the back deck in about 400 feet of water. All of a sudden the line went nuts and we had a huge fight going on. We took turns fighting this fish for about 35 minutes. Finally I got it up and handed the pole off to him, all of his family was up top looking down on us, cheering us on. I finally got a gaff in it and got it onboard. It was a huge 58 lb yellow fin tuna. Rarely caught out there. His whole family was cheering. He was so happy, he was crying and hugging me. Then he insisted he help cut it up and we ate little slices of it as we fileted it out. He was smiling the whole time, thanking me, talking to his kids and grandkids. There are a lot of hard times in yachting and then there are the special moments that last forever. That was one. His daughter told me that was the happiest she had seen her dad in 15 years. After his first grandchild was born. When they left, he gave me the biggest hug ever and then sent me a framed photo his daughter took of us fighting the fish and another of us standing together holding it up. The next charter was a nightmare of a French family that fought constantly and brought their own chef, nanny, butler and security. We had no special moments with them, other than them leaving and the primary being so drunk at 9:00 a.m., he fell off the passerelle and broke his elbow.

Watch for redness spreading quickly with bug bites. My daughter has had 2 staph infections from bug bites in the last 2 years. Needed antibiotics.
