He was chased out of his home by selfish, room temperature IQ activists and forced to live in the loud, dirty city that is far removed from his species' natural habitat, suffering from pigeon herpes(no really) and exposure to rat poison(Based on his necropsy) but yeah he was TOTALLY "Free" guys

If he is killed as a result of humans, it's more likely to happen indirectly as a result of eating a poisoned rat / mouse than by being directly killed.

The Central Park birders really love this guy. He has quite a community. He might be annoyed by too many cameras, but ... Maybe it's good that he spent so many years with humans in the Central Park Zoo. He seemed to have a good experience there because he doesn't seem to mind being around humans, at a distance.

Im glad he's free. Seems that he was born with hunting instincts and knows how to survive and thrive. The zoo should release a female into the park.

Its probably because he grew up in the city (despite the fact that he grew up in the zoo, he get accustomed to the sounds and had a chance to remember everything that he could see from his habitat). Normally if wild eagle owl makes it to the city it gets confused and hopefully just injured ( Regarding finding partner, its more tricky than you think. Eagle owls mate for life and they don't mate with just any other eagle owl of the opposite gender. They need to meet the "right" partner.

His Necropsy says otherwise, turns out even if he didn't collide with the window, he would have died anyways due to the Pigeon herpes and exposure to rat poison from the food he was eating

Having more owls around the city may be the solution to the NY rats problem. Flaco knows what he is and how to act accordingly. And he gets a full belly in exchange. \OvO/
