I've seen this thrown around a lot when talking about police, and I just want to clarify that the definition the US sets for Domestic Terrorism is defined in 18 U.S.C. 2331(5) as activities "Involving acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; Appearing to be intended to: Intimidate or coerce a civilian population; Influence the police of government by intimidation or coercion; or Affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping; and Occurring primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States" You can very easily take this definition and see how police, when violating our laws with dangerous violence in an attempt to intimidate or coerce the civilian population within the bounds of territories of the US, are oftentimes domestic terrorist organizations. I've seen a lot of push back on that comment, so I just wanted to make it very clear to those who may not agree with Dramaa88, that this is not an offhand or purely emotional comment, and is at this point a fact.

You'll find that virtually every police officer who works in private training or “consulting,” as they call it, has a long list of former agencies they have been employed at and an even longer list of past issues. They go into either law enforcement or private consulting because they have nowhere else in law enforcement to go. They are all deemed basically “unhireable” for a long list of reasons, which include DUI, domestic violence, or improper use of force. A lot of doctors do the same thing, they go work for these ambulance chaser doctors officers that don't even practice medicine, they only provide doctors as “expert witnesses” in personal injury trials. Usually because of either too many malpractice issues or ethics violations.

In some technical colleges, where people enroll in order to get their law enforcement certification, instructors already train students to act like soldiers in a war zone. Those who lack life experience, maturity, and the mental capacity that would allow them to adjust to different situations accordingly (and the people they interact with), most likely end up acting like tyrants with a gun and a badge. That's a major concern as it seems L.E. agencies had to lower the bar in order to fill their ranks. Let's be honest, people with skills, experience, and/or valuable degrees/certificates, don't want to work these hours and deal with people in crisis or other stressful/dangerous situations. Now you add this type of agency-sponsored training, and it makes things even worse. When you take everything into consideration, expect more tense situations with "civilians", inappropriate use of force, a lack of trust from the public, etc. It is absolutely unacceptable that agencies are sending their officers to this conference, with tax payers dollars on top of it. Just have them watch movies with corrupt cops instead, like Training Day, you'll save time and money.
