In Sydney’s south-west a new mosque has opened after more than twenty years in the making.
Its contemporary concrete design has been described as an architectural masterpiece.
The architect Angelo Candalepas is Greek Orthodox.
Over several years he worked with the community to develop a unique design and a visually stunning building for local Muslims to worship and gather.

an extremely considerate, beautiful space. only critique would be the lack of built in soap dispensers- using a palmolive dispenser is hardly appropriate considering the rest of the building.

that carpark is extremely heartbreaking. Its a blemish on the city planning department to favour the use of vehicles over ones freedom of movement and religion.

It is as if it was built so that no sound would escape. It must have a magnificent soundproofing. Also, in mosques, modesty should take place long before entering under the dome. Not right in front of the door.
