Once donations have gone over a certain amount, like 10k or 20k it should have to be distributed by a professional finance company to make sure it is spent on what it is raised for, not released to the people who set it up or receive the money. A friend of mine started a GoFund Me account for me after I got sick and my husband walked out. It only raised $300, but I never received that money. My friend swears she didn’t receive it either. We have since drifted apart. I never pushed the issue since it was only $300, but it still bothers me. At one point, I was very comfortable financially. I put myself through college while raising my son alone, and I built a successful career in the IT field. Over the years, I loaned money to people who never paid it back. I gave money and food to the homeless and less fortunate. I have purchased bus tickets, fixed vehicles, and given jobs to people who needed them. And yes, some people took advantage, but I never regretted a single thing. My son’s father owes me over $50k in child support. My ex-husband owes me $70k in alimony. I have been denied for disability, and I am appealing. But if I’m approved, I will be owed $30k in back payments. I am struggling and can not afford health insurance, which I need desperately due to a degenerative connective tissue disorder. There are people like me who have been generous with their money, time, and resources. But when we need help, we are forgotten. Again, I regret nothing. I was not being helpful to get anything in return. I had no idea I’d end up in this position. But it is a bit disheartening to not have your good deeds reciprocated when you are the one in need. And then there are scumbags like this who scam honest, generous, hardworking people, and steal from those who truly need it! Our veterans should NEVER be on the street!! 400,000 USD? That is absurd. You know guys there are probably soup kitchens in your own backyard that could use that $$ instead of giving a pile of cash to this dude's drug connections.
@Carol-D.13246 жыл бұрын
The money was raised FOR him to use as needed. If he squandered the money on drugs, that would be on HIM, not the couple. He would be the maker of his own destiny. If he blew it, he would be right back to living under a bridge and he could only blame himself.

johanna717 They spent the money people gave to him .... how is that right?
@virgilstarkwell83836 жыл бұрын
I did not say it was right. What I said was that is it strikes me as weird that people would give 400,000 USD to this cause of one man when they could be giving money to charities in their own backyard. It is a weird concentration of resources on one man. He himself said it was like winning the lottery. Is that what people gave money for? So he could win the lottery?
@laurasomebody6 жыл бұрын
Who do they think they are!? You can't raise donations, then put stipulations on giving it to the person. It was given to him, regardless of addictions or how he wanted to use it....disgraceful horrible people. if she couldn't manage to keep her gas tank full, how did they afford all those vacations?
@ulovetashi6 жыл бұрын
It's not even up for debate at this point (Smh) they clearly took that money and enjoyed every penny of it. I think it's so gross. No matter what he might have used that money for, it wasn't for them to keep. They raised it for him and that's where it should have went. If they thought he was such a terrible person or a drug abuser, why not get him help instead of raising money and not give it to him. People from all over donated that money thinking it would help someone in need, but instead this couple went on lavish vacations, purchased a BMW and went shopping.

as a recovered heroin addict, i would NEVER have given my last 20 bucks when i was using. this guy is a good guy. if he messed with drugs, i get it, but i dont think he is a full blown addict. if your homeless and have ANY money, its for food or drugs.. he gave her his last 20! sounds like a good guy

75k is enough to set him going for life the average homeless man would be grateful Johnny spent that money and drugs 2 . The couple goal was only 10000$ if they only raised only 10k that might have gave home the money but they got 400k the average human does not make that much money in a year so when they saw that had that much money greed set in and I am pretty sure when Johnny Heard they had 400k he got greedy to

@carolynartes60336 жыл бұрын
How is it that he got greedy? The money was raised FOR HIM. That means that any and all funds were to go to him, not the people who set up the fund for him. If they really wanted him to have the money they could have set him up with a financial advisor. It wasn't up to them how the money was to be spent. They treated those funds as if it was their own and that was purely greedy and wrong!
