The man who has been called the “Robin Hood of New York” has garnered quite the following online, as his videos on TikTok showing him give money to random people on the street who appear to be homeless or down on their luck have racked up millions of views. So why does he do it? NBC New York’s Gilma Avalos reports.

Yes. They need a spark of inspiration but also a substantial amount of money in their eyes to make them make a move towards a positive path. It shows that somebody cares about them and it also comes off like a sign from God/universe. If only cbos/cfos (nonprofits and faith organizations) could learn from Peter Bond's approach. Sure, he can do it privately but his reach and impact will be limited and thus the number of people he can help will be much fewer. Maybe even more important than just helping individuals on the street is the fact that he's raising awareness and showing his audience the humanity of homeless people. They are real people full of hopes and dreams with tragic biographies who feel completely forsaken by the world. He's a real hero, and he (and a few others online) motivates me sometimes when I'm going through my clinical depression (I survived various childhood traumas and adult traumas at the hands of adults in the corporate world, etc.) . I'm still dealing with my cancer, depression, and some other BS, but today I'm designing a graphic to donate some of my skills (educational, etc) to help poorer people in my community. From someone that left New York but loved giving at least a smile to the homeless and when ever possible money, and had conversations with many homeless PEOPLE , I thank you Brother for doing what you do . Because if people only took the time to ask why people the are in this bad situation what got them there they would realize it could be any one in that situation...We should all ask this question WHAT IF THAT WAS ME WOULD AT LEAST A SMILE OR A DOLLAR MAKE A DIFERENCE ???
