At times, I can understand where the argument for the Catholic Church to step down from the extravagance comes from, but I suggest a better argument for her continued participation in it. Why would we not want to give the absolutely best quality things in offering to God in the beauty of His churches, vestments, etc.? When we see the Catholic Church, we see heaven touching earth.
