Atidna International is a student group founded by a University of Texas at Austin student with the goal of creating a space for Jewish and Palestinian students to engage in conversation.

In the west it’s the silent investors of companies involved in the war based economy. It seems to me that it is the economic war that is far more in control of the actions of the government leaders than the tribal war. Hamas, an extreme religious war threat, was given countless billions of dollars to purchase an endless supply of armaments (largely Russian) They built Gaza into a fortress designed for guerilla warfare. It is a given that Israel cannot have rockets endlessly raining down on its population and that they would respond with the use of billions of dollars of war product to eliminate the source of the problem. What was a local tribal conflict which may have resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives now becomes a global threat with the potential loss of millions of lives and this has been happening all over the world, particularly in Africa. Where you happen to be standing in either war will totally change your perspective and the picture becomes much more complex than any individual person can fathom. These people in this video will find peace in their lives regardless of what is happening in the world and the more people like them, the better.

The occupation exists because there are many Palestinians who view the whole land as occupied and want to fight for it. It is unclear how large that proportion is among Palestinians, but it is clearly significant. Right or wrong Israelis think that Palestinians will continue to attack them once they have a state. The more paranoid Israeli view is that why would we give them a state when they will then just attack us? Cycles of violence on both sides push the other to be more extreme, which is why we see Hamas control over Gaza, and the most right-wing coalition in Israel's history today.

Ahh yes…brings some faith in humanity back in me….but we’re in Murica folks…spoiled by a blessed Geography. We can say whatever the shite we want…bless our old folks who decided to bring us to these lands before the fights began…not just in the middle east but the rest of the globe. I understand what you're saying but I do think everyone in the group agrees what is happening to people in Gaza is inhumane. What it seems like what they are trying to do is to explain their experiences and issues as Palestinian or Israeli students by attempting to bring to light about how the extreme polarization are causing them to be silenced, at least that's what I interpreted. I hope that makes sense!

@@tartapple8090 I understand, my whole point is that this whole narrative that history started at 07th of October or even asking the question "do you condemn the Hamas attack on the 7th of October?" shows how disingenuous the media depicting this conflict is. International Law stands with Hamas (as controversial and horrible as this sounds for a centrist, leftist or right leaning person) Occupied people have the moral right to resist oppression using violence. There is not a single instance in human history where the oppressed resisting occupation didn't make mistakes... (Regardless of EU /US putting Hamas on a terror list)

In terms of viable solution; you can't come up with a solution unless and untill the Jewish part admits THEIR part of the problem and how it affects dystopian ways of living for the Palestinians TODAY... In terms of who is going to sacrifice the most when coming to a viable solution; it sure as hell won't be the Palestinians. Since they suffered the most! Israel created a horrible society where they can freely chant the eradication of Palestinians and even now they are protesting for Netanyahu to use EVEN MORE FORCE!!! Even inside Israel they get less facts on the ground than International News Media and that's beyond atrocious! If even Israelis saw a fraction of what is happening today, they would be horrified! From surviving Holocaust to turning Gaza into a death camp. How ironic and cruel! I bet those that fled Europe to Israel today would turn in their graves!
