They get there the 2 guys went in the McDonald's while he stayed in the car. They come out, get in the car and they all drive back home. A few weeks later the police impound the car its his dad's car who was out of town at the time. Dad comes home, goes to the police to get the car back, has no idea what took place while he was gone, and takes the son with him to drive the car back... The police separate the dad and son and eventually tells the dad that "his car was used in an armed robbery of a McDonald's).. At the end of the investigation, it's determined that the 2 guys Robbed the McDonald's while the son waited in the car as the get-away driver. But the son adamantly denied knowing anything about a robbery, had faith in "the system" and fought it in court. While the 2 guys plead guilty to the armed robbery and got 7 years each. You’re right, as a PARDON is for adjudicating guilty people. This man did nothing wrong, as he is innocent. That said, because he is innocent, he needs a judge or an elected official to have his adjudicated judgment of GUILTY to be VACATED or OVERTURNED, in order to be released. He is still in jail because the judges won’t vacate or overturn the judgment of guilt, and because he is innocent, he doesn’t qualify for a “pardon,” as pardons are for those who are guilty. Mr. Strickland is still in jail due to the fact that an elected official or a judge to VACATE or OVERTURN the judgment of guilty. So, there is a difference between vacating/overturning a guilty judgment and pardoning a guilty judgment, and that’s why he is in jail. It sucks and I hope that someone vacates that judgment. Hope that helps!

We realize the men that did do it have confessed and done their time…but to admit we did something wrong would show us as weak and not knowing what we do. @@ValensBellator I just watched & I'm in tears. My heart breaks into a million little pieces for this man. I'm ready to start a fund for him now because he will get out. Just a matter of time. We may as well get ahead of this because he will need a wheelchair, clothes, food, personal hygiene items & a place to live. If you're serious facebook me so we can work together to make it happen.

Until the folks on Missouri get on their feet and get the bad laws changed this is what they have to live with. We have lost sight of the fact that there is no force on Earth that can stand up to the will of the American people. As a people we can do ANYTHING we want. Well, perhaps we can't catch a fart and paint it green but other than that.....

This is completely unacceptable. The law stopping him from becoming a free man should be null and void in every case like this and anyone who facilitated the prevention of his released from prison should in turn spend time in jail for their own criminal actions against this man. This could never be okay in any universe regardless of what the law says. You know this poor man has gone numb just to avoid going insane in there. Absolutely unconscionable how they justify wasting his life over a stupid, nonsensical law.

It was definitely worse for the 3 Black People that had their heads blown off by His Friends...... Cynthia Douglas never officially recanted her statement and after she died her family members started telling people she lied.

@Renee Why yea no few things wrong with this but not everything to be honest your we are one thing and willingness to go extinct thing is crazy and the it could be u or me is also kinda wrong sense wrongful imprisonment based on race has decreased by a very large amount sense this imprisonment (wish it was completely gone but it will take time) but the choice of the court and governor is idiotic to say the least even when just thinking about the negative impact that refusing a seemingly innocent man his freedom would have on the imagine they have created for themselves. Well that’s my opinion but what do you mean by fighting them back because you could be mean 6-7 different things considering if you mean condensed or broad issues.

43 YEARS there is nothing anyone can do to bring that time back, no amount of money or apologies could even begin to compensate for this. disgusting.

The “Land of the free” they said. The U.S. has no moral rights to talk about human rights abuses in Iran, China, Philippines, North Korea etc.

@Florida Man they will be instances. What a hilarious statement. America has been doing this for generations. Not to just people of colour white men and women too. Do you even know how many people have been executed only to find out later they were innocent. That florida sun has got to your brain. The system is broken, it has been from its inception. Also please don't be telling people to leave the country like you are the authority.

@Florida Man who even brang perfection into the conversation. Is that your get out clause. You sound like mitch McConnell.

@Florida Man f biden but a quick one. Trump wanted juneteenth to pass when he was in office. Republicans overwhelmingly voted no to it. Confused much.🤣 on a serious note, Republicans say they they back the blue but voted against the jan 6th investigation. You clowns need to choose one thing. Your hypocrisy is at an all time high.

Bingo!! 43 years of being in prison on a wrong conviction means MILLIONS!! Governor just doesn't want to do it on his watch. He may do it on his way out, whenever that it is.
@Sweetyhide3 жыл бұрын
It's worse than that. There isn't compensation for wrongful convictions in Missouri. If he gets out the state will not give him one penny.
