He and the others did what is expected. Will always remember, taking a break from work. Several of us, went upstairs, to the only TV in the office. Sat there mesmerized. Chasing the tears away. Sure could use him now days. He was a man with a vision and really did help out. Am so glad that I finally found this.

I agree with you. I come from the middle east, and when I see Obama's leadership, I put his mistakes and pitfalls aside. As a human being and an individual, he is genuine, clean and comes right from the roots of the society. His leadership is among the finest and you are lucky to have him for another 4 years

Don't you have anything better to do than to negatively criticize our president? What have you done for our country? Go read a book, go reach out to those who need help, and stop being that ignorant person who only sees the negative and not the positive.

Bravo! "We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths - that all of us are created equal - is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall; just as it guided all those men and women, sung and unsung, who left footprints along this great Mall, to hear a preacher say that we cannot walk alone; to hear a King proclaim that our individual freedom is inextricably bound to the freedom of every soul on Earth."

I hate to say it, but you couldn't be more wrong. If the things you mentioned in your post really matter to you, take the time to do a little research - it doesn't take long to simply scan articles and/or policies, but be open to all perspectives - there is a lot of bias out there, but you'll find the truth if you look.

I realize that President Obama has many critics. I’m sure they have their good points-of-view. But to me, the President is one of the best presidents the USA has ever had. He took over when the nation was in its worst condition. And I do believe our nation is getting better through his leadership. I’m glad he made a second term.

I do not like to be labeled. Too restrictive. While there is some truth to it, I refuse to call myself a gamer, a nerd, a Trekkie, a homosexual, or refer to myself as white, atheist or well-off. However, there is something about this man that inspires me like no other to say with the greatest pride... ...I am an American.

I like what President Obama said about renewable energy and how America needs to be at the forefront of it. I completely agree. Renewable is the future and there's no use in fighting it. If our nation can lead the world into this new age, it will mean continued prosperity for generations of Americans to come.

Why can't people debate issues instead of attending character assassination. Personally, I believe Reagan and Bush are just as patriotic and love America just as much as Clinton and Obama. I think Bush Sr. might be the most ethical and admirable president in my 47 years. I still strongly prefer the policies of Clinton and Obama but can acknowledge that in hindsight many Bush and Reagan policies turned out much better than I expected at the time. Hate fueled extremism on either side is bad.

You’re correct, Mr. Browning. I forgot about those two severely worse events. I apologize for not thinking that far back. But next time, if you’re going to be sarcastic, don’t say so because the tone of your writing will speak for itself. Your message will be more effective that way. Otherwise, what you did is like laughing at your own joke. But to me, it’s no joke that Mr. Obama is our President. I have continued faith in him.

You nor anyone else knows what the founding fathers wanted. It is known that they wanted the laws and regulations to grow with the technologies and demographics. All that we know is that all men are created equal.

But the thing about our founding fathers is that they aren't saints. Jefferson and Washington, while penning the words "all men are created equal", both held slaves and forced a clause in to exclude blacks from that. These men weren't geniuses with hundreds of years worth of foresight. What they were doing was laying the framework for how our nation would develop. As the demographics and technologies expand, the laws and regulations should too.
