My son is Autistic and I just found out that my daughter is on the High Functioning end of the Spectrum. When my husband and I would go to class functions there was only about 3 other parents that would come to any of the functions. One of the teachers told me that Most men leave their special needs kids. This was a Great Interview

Salute to Fat Joe! I was born autistic with speech & nonverbal communication problems. I started talking when I was 5 years old and I was in the special ed until the 4th grade. I would attend speech classes and therapy throughout my youth. Long story short, I graduated from Berkeley College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a 3.1 GPA in 3 years taking no semesters off. I also speak spanish fluently. The key to beating autism is never giving up and keep fighting daily. Practice makes perfect. Always work on yourself and your kids. Take vitamins and eat healthier. Drink lots of water as well. Take advantage of your interests so you can bring yourself or your child out more socially. Love always wins!

One of my cousins has autism. A lot of other family members doesn’t want anything to do with him but he’s one of the few family members I can have genuine conversations with. He’s one of the kindest people I know. I don’t know how this is going to sound but I told him what he perceives to be a curse I perceive to be a blessing. If you know someone with autism you probably know what I mean. I was a little frustrated trying to teach my cousin how to drive but his determination was inspiring. He’s never let his limitations limit him, as ironic as that sounds. One love to all!!!

Autism is a superpower. My 4 year old is always blowing me away with how amazing he is. My 7 year old is very empathetic, that's his superpower ♡ Like Joe said, we're all NORMAL. We just have different things going on. Nobody is perfect!!

I have two grandchildren with autism and they are loved so much . One is going into high school, good kid , very smart and has always been verbal. My other is almost 4 non verbal for first 3 years and mother has taught her so much with buying programs that she has used to teach her to learn words and she is so smart and works the computer and has learned so much in the last year. She has learned to speak , count do her abc’s etc. It takes a lot of commitment and they are worth it. My daughter in law is a great mother and works hard with her even though she has 5 kids and works . They can learn a lot with your help. Don’t expect everyone else to teach them teach them yourself. There’s so much out there to work with.

I absolutely love this!! I am an Autism mom! My son was diagnosed at 3 and is now 24. It's a lot, but I am so grateful that God chose me to be his mother. Way to go Fat Joe! I was so hype to see this interview. I am also an advocate for our children's educational rights as well as awareness and assistance. I reached out to Joe awhile ago to talk about going into adulthood with Autism. It's a lot and some parents have no idea where to start. Prayerfully, he will get back with me. I would love to do a live with him so that we can reach as many families as we can. He has an amazing platform! Blessings to you Joe, Joey and your family.💙🧩

1 in 44 kids is high. Thanks for this knowledge! Not forgetting the other 43 may also have one special difference or another. 1 in 44 is an entire world. Everyone deserves to be seen , heard, understood , acknowledged and accepted. Much respect Fat Jo! You raised the bar super high especially for a 19 year old parent.

Much respect to Joe for sharing this 👏🙌 as a mother of an autistic child I can agree with all that you've said . I been through it and still going through it with my child but we are here with faith and never giving up God willing. My biggest goal for my son is for him to become independent! He is 5 years old now its still a challenge but little by little we will get there hopefully!

I love that his advice is to love them ❤️ I work with students in the spectrum. When sharing with friends and family I always got the shocked face and “omg why?!” It’s hard but it’s not impossible, when you show these students love, & most importantly patience they know! And understand that language.
