A large part of my life, I sobbed through most of this. I grew up on Cold Chisel. I’m a first generation Chisel fan going from pub to pub to see them live almost every night in the early days from The Sundowner at Punchbowl, The Cardiff Workers, Revesby Workers, Manly Vale, Carmen’s, Northies, The Maroubra Seals, Selinas, Coyotes with Wild friends no longer around through to Circus Animals, Last Stand, Light the Nitro and so it continues. My wild days thankfully I left behind me or I wouldn’t be here now. Best times, so much love and adoration for all of them. Best days of my life. Can’t wait for their 50th Reunion Tour in October 2024. Cold Chisel is the soundtrack to my life. And they’re all ours - Aussie rockers adored by Aussies ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@blueshorecreative3146 hi there,no idea where you're writing from, but here in France you'd be amazed by how many Australian music artists hit it big over here,AC/DC,Midnight Oil,Kylie Minogue, Nick Cave,John Paul Young (bet that blew you out...love is in the air),Died Pretty, they even know who Johnny O'Kieffe is,there are most likely more,i'm no longer in the music scene/industry,so i'm a bit out of touch, the French love music.I grew up in Melbourne, born in 1960,yeah Cold Chisel were great, along with Jo-Jo Zep and the falcons (now the Black Sorrows) Kevin Borich,Renée Geyer,Hunters and Collecters, hit Bombay Rock,or Festival Hall,ID's wss my favorite saw Vince Jones, even met Miles Davis thete one night the countless pubs,i've seen thousands of bands, saw Johnny Winter,Sleepy La Beef,Sonny Terry and Brownie Maggy and heaps more.Cold Chisel's music hit à spot with me,as i'm from a really low income suburb and from immigrant parents, they were sort of our voice.

Ta' mate....whoever posted this. I'm 63, a Tassie - many years in Asia (but the answer sure ain't there). CC has always been with me. Real Aussie legend who gave so much, cheers guys. F..king up in the US was the best thing to happen to Chisel, and their gift to us.

From the first time I heard Khe Sanh at the age of 10 to today at the scary age of 57, I have listened to every note, lyric, guitar lick with my soul., not just my ears. There is no better band for me in Australia. Their song list is so varied and so structured that it never gets old. If this is yobbos music, Cold Chisel are the most intelligent, flexible, street smart musicians on the planet.

I didn’t get into them until after they broke up.. after a diet of Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cougar out of high school, I found them. It was a revelation. The soundtrack to the better times in my life as a young man. An introduction to quality Australian music that we could all identify with and be proud.

I broke into pieces seeing these blokes break up. They were such a legend, such influence in my life even though I wasn't born in Australian, I felt a big part of it all. It's a great feeling when you watch them perform live. RIP Steve Prestwich.

East was the first album I ever bought as a 15 year old in 1980. I still think it's their best album, although they had many great songs before and after. I played it to death and scratched it so bad that it jumps a few seconds into Standing On The Outside. Sadly, never seen them live, although I have seen Jimmy solo (not the same). I also clearly remember watching that Countdown / TV Week awards performance live on TV. I'd never seen anything like that before, but I knew where they were coming from.

@@johnsherry5642 great song but hardly anthem material and I’m a diehard fan. The Seekers We are One should be our anthem without a doubt. Khe Sanh is the most widely recognised Australian rock song worldwide. Anywhere in the world you hear it and the Aussies start coming out if the woodwork reuniting in song. Best feeling ever.

Most bands that started in Adelaide between 1960 and 1980 went on to have considerable success because Adelaide audiences were very critical. The saying went if you can make it in Adelaide you can make it anywhere.

Sell the entire Cold Chisel catalogue to SONY in the U.S. to give the men their dues and WATCH them become BIG, via things like MAX images...and the rest will become U.S. history! And the band will LIVE ON internationally Let's say US$500 million asking price, NO LESS

These British are not even born in Australia yet call themselves Australians. And there is nothing Australian about them. There was nothing Australian about the Bee Gees, and AC/DC. Australian music was grossly underrated.....they were all let down by people like Countdown queer Molly Meldrum and TV Week and Bandstand, Brian Henderson.. In fact .. the removal of Briggs and Shorrock ruined LRB, indeed. They had no shame. It was great to be white and from Britain in Australia in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s. The rest of Australia got left behind.

Jimmy Barnes and his alcholicism was the cause or their problems. Thewy would've been done better to get rid of him and kept Ian Moss as the singer. His drinking was a REAL problem ( Insider knowledge). I still hat him to this day. Don Walker is geat, Mossy too. As Ian has shown he can sell shows without them but I always thought Don was great.
