@@TheThornbird21 are you serious here, jew dont believe in Jesus even though they believein musas, and Christians dont believe in Mohammad even though Muslims believein Jesus. The Bible is not the world of God and not 100% reliable source of information. Its so automatically normal that God sends another prophet with a book that can be trust worthy. What else can be done when the msg is corrupted. The Bible is not the original word of God given to prophet Jesus. People are worshipping the cross and Jesus and his mother same as pagans. Moreover Christians ask dead saints to help them and to give them health and wealth ..... it does not sound as a something i can build my believe on. Most of what the church does now will surprise Jesus him self if he came back. It is now totally man made and went too far

Just a clarifying point in passing. The Protestant understanding is that rock upon which Jesus builds his church is the confession Peter made, "you are the Christ the Son of the Living God." No physical rock or personal designation, although Peter means rock or "Rockie" so there is a great play on words in the New Testament Greek.
@aericabison23
@aericabison23 2 жыл бұрын
The Greek word for rock, as in a large boulder, is “Petra”. The word “Peter” or “Petros” refers to a stone or small rock. Jesus Christ is doing two things when He made the declaration about the rock- He affirms Peter’s apostolic authority, while at the same time asserting that his apostolic authority is a mere contributing factor to the foundation of the Church, which itself is based on the confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. Both “Petros” and “Petra” are used in the original Greek text.

The dirham is simply a reference to silver coinage and not a specific denomination. How dumb can you be? read the first response. @@galates5366 They even called the Sasanian drachmas as dirhams, even though their denomination wasn't called dirhams. They even used the word dirham to refer to Himyarite (Yemeni) silver unit coins, which were not called dirhams but this shows that this term is used to refer to silver coinage in general. K , alot of mistakes here: 1) there is no holiday or Temple ritual associated with shaving or cutting hair. The shorning of hair only applies to those who have self-imposed the nazarite vow at the conclusion of his 7 year vow and is not associated with any particular holiday. 2. The Hebew wiord "Chag" simply means holiday/festival. 3. There was no circumambulation of the temple. At the conclusion of Sukkoth, on a holiday called Hishanah Rabbag, there was a ritual of circumambulating within the temple (willow ritual) 4. On the holiday of Sukkot/ Hoshanna Rabba, Jews incorporate the "Arbah Minnim" (4 species) in their morning prayers, comprised of a Lulav (palm branch), hadass (myrtle), aravah (willow), and etrog (citron, which looks like a slightly larger and bumpier lemon) -- not Garland's-- which they hold in their hands ( the lulav, hadass and aravah bundle together in one hand and the eyrog in the other). Thus while I don't deny the general thrust of the argument, drawing a connection to these rituals is completely spurious

Why does Paul say the coin was produced by a Muslim? the term Allah was used by Christians, and surely 'There is no God but Allah' could be an anti-trinitarian Christian saying? Also who does Paul think Mohammad is? he's obviously not 'The Prophet of Islam' as you both say, but whom?

316 AD, a coin under Constantine I, had a cross on it in acknowledgement of an end to hostilities towards Christians. The Armenians started the first Christian country in 301, but didn't mint coins. The copper coinage styles were not standardized by the Umayyad government but rather were left to local governorates to determine, unlike the silver dirhams and the gold dinars. And even with that, the so-called menorah is not a certain attribution, and most sources, most importantly the Checklist of Islamic Coins (the most important reference on Islamic coins by Stephen Album) cites the type as being an image of a mosque's dome, as this was around the time that the dome of the rock was built. Your so-called "Islamic Researcher" fails miserably at any genuine research.

@@jondoe7936 we are not all one :D The catholic church makes it explicit. It pronounces curses, damnations and anathemas on anyone who disagrees with them. The catholic church claims their god comes down at the order of their priest in humble obediences and hangs himself on the cross every week In his Catholic church approved book 'The Faith of Millions', John O’Brien, a Catholic priest, explains the procedure of the mass. "When the priest pronounces the tremendous words of consecration, he reaches up into the heavens, brings Christ down from His throne, and places Him upon our altar to be offered up again as the Victim for the sins of man. It is a power greater than that of monarchs and emperors: it is greater than that of saints and angels, greater than that of Seraphim and Cherubim. Indeed it is greater even than the power of the Virgin Mary. While the Blessed Virgin was the human agency by which Christ became incarnate a single time, the priest brings Christ down from heaven, and renders Him present on our altar as the eternal Victim for the sins of man-not once but a thousand times! The priest speaks and lo! Christ, the eternal and omnipotent God, bows His head in humble obedience to the priest’s command. "

all good on the islam stuff Mel, and I greatly appreciate it, but weird churchianity stuff about half way through with speculation on mary being the ark of the covenant. hmmmmm.... Pure religious speculation as the "new covenant" is not the "new testament". The old covenant must be defined to speak of any new one, there were various covenants and this "old covenat, new covenant" thing is church speak. The land covenant with Abraham still stands, that of the land of promise to the decendents of Abraham. But the Law covenant with Moses was broken by the Jews and the death of Jesus fulfills the purpose of the law (law which kept israel apart from "the nations" corruption at Babel, as a genetic pipeline to fulfill Gen3:15, the promised seed of the woman) so at crucifixion begins "A new covenant in his blood" ( A new covenant Jesus said. In his blood. As the lamb of God killed on a jubilee passover, his blood becomes the covering that any who come under it will be saved) so begins the new era, the christian era, but the broken Law covenant isnt replaced by us Christians, because the law covenant wasnt with non jews, ( 'the new covenant' will have to be with those who broke the old), Jews, complete with the still standing land covenant, and will be fulfilled in the millennium at the Eskaton, after Jesus returns, when the patriachs are resurrected and finally inherit the land. We christians are "the fullness of the gentiles coming in" while the Jews have a partial blindness over them (scripture says this in one of Pauls epistles) and at the moment all who call upon the name, or in other words "come under the blood of the lamb" (like at first passover which was before law) are "new creations" neither Jew nor Gentile, but are "one new man." And are destined to be raised and rule the nations with Christ, as new "sons of God." Not as Jews. Also you implied that the black rock on mt Moriah was the rock Jesus said he would build his church on. Do you know where he said that? it was Ceasaria Phillipi, in Bashan way to the north, outside israeli territory, at Mt Hermon. A big rock which in Hebrew tradition the rebel sons of God left their first estate and made a pact of rebellion against YHWH on, and on which (a high mountain just outside Ceasaria Phillipi) Jesus was transfigured on. So he might have been speaking of Peter, or himself, or indeed the place of rebellion that he was nullifying, which was a big rock indeed, where he was saying it. Just a thoughtful interlude on that one.

Mell. At 40:25 for the next few minutes, have a critical think about your words re the god head of that festival. listen to what you say 40:35 about the 'Mesopotamian TRILLOGY of gods" and have a careful think about the "trinity" that most of christianity is based on. You pointed out the error of the muslims here, what about the error of trinity that us unitarian Christians keep trying to warn the church majority about???? And think about majority/minority. At crucial points in biblical narrative, Enoch, Noah, Babel, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Israel as a nation, David, each prophet, Jesus, each apostle, we see that the majority are wrong. Its a very strong biblical theme, majority run off into religion. God is always calling out a small group of "those with an ear to hear" which you are doing against the obvious falsehood if Islam, but we can also have a plank in our own eye.

There is a very credible group of accredited academics and focused individuals like yourself doing work of drawing out evidence every bit as much as your confederates do with islam. There is one spiritual force against a true understanding of God, and that group, in the unseen realm, are working in all religions, in fact "religion" is their favourite vessel to confuse and blind us. @@IslamicOrigins another thought Mel, a few years ago I read a secular history of the middle east by an American author called "The Silk Roads." (it covered world commerce actually) That author pointed out that in the first five centuries AD especially after Constantine, that the majority of christians of the east, especially Persia, were unitarian in belief. This occurred because after Constantines councils, his predecessor Theodosius made the teaching of only trinity a law of the empire, under pain of death or exile, and all the non trinity christians who were not killed fled east into Persia which was much more accepting of various religious beliefs at the time. There became a separation of the christians of the east, scattered, versus the christians of the west under Rome. This is at the roots of the very issues you are exploring. And it was these unitarian christians (being naturally a majority of christians in Persia), and Jews, who were the target of the new kid on the block, so called Muhammad. This was one of the things which began to make me examine my own understandings of what being christian meant. That and a deeper study of scripture resulted in a better understanding, and some very blatant mistranslation ( when compared to the original Greek and Hebrew of our NT and OT). Some of it is so obvious it beggars belief that folk dont see it! Most christians just accept the SCN, the std christian narrative. Hence my comments about Majority/Minority. Anyway, what I am saying is that these issues are intertwined with your studies, and point to smoke and mirrors on many fronts, not Just Islams, and hostile reactions from folk we point these things out to who are entrenched in their std narratives is par for the cause. I am appealing to you to expand yours wider than that you have already done. I really appreciate the work you and your friends are doing, and please dont kick me off your channel, but I say there is a wider picture beyond your end of the frame.
