Hi Murat, excellent work here. I wish you wrote a book (in English, please 😉🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻)… dealing with all these elements in traditional archery 👍🏻👏🏻🙇🏻♂️

Thanks Bruce! Well, I have a plan of writing my third book about training methodology and in English. Not started yet though...

Interesting video. I use this split vision when I shoot mediterranean, but when I use thumb release it's more natural for me to just use intuition. The same direction vs opposite direction muscles really got me thinking. I think it will be useful in my practice to analyze this

Greetings hocam, great content as always! I would like to know what draw weight you prefer for your bows to execute those badass trick shots.
@abdulkabza2 жыл бұрын
Bows around 40+ are good for trickshots for me. The bows seen here are 41-48# at my draw length. Just the shot at the hog target was executed with a 55#@28 bow, around 59# at my draw. In the shots from a blind in darkness the bow I shot was 51# at my draw.

Are there any accounts from artisans from the ottoman times who produced the bows&arrows ? This topic is very underrepresented when it comes to historical weapons generally. Generals and Kings are known but where is the credit for the industrious artisans who manufactured these ingenious weapons?

Yes! It is well-known as they were organized as handcraftsman guilds. Evliya Chelebi, the 17th cent traveller reports their locations in Istanbul, how many artisans they were and how many shops there were.

I'm a lousy shot . Regardless the method I use . And I don't care . I'm having fun . Celebrate the hits . Celebrate the near miss . Celebrate the clear miss . Cheers . Keep having fun 😁
