I only wish that were true. Some guards are still allowing the horses to be touched by the people, despite the signs. Don't understand why they don't stop the willfullvvisitors who insist on doing what they want.

The tour guide should have told the group of the rules...glad to see the Guard finally yelled. Tour guide should be restricted from their group getting pictures of the Horse Guard for 3 month or until they learn to explain the rules.

The guard at the other side did nothing to stop people touching the horse. At one point I counted 5 people mauling that poor horse at the same time, the guardsman sat there and did nothing. The soldier came and stopped it, he told the guardsman to uphold the rules of no touching but as soon as he left it started again. If the guardsman won’t enforce the no touching rule it’s nonsense.

There has to to be TWO do not touch signs. One each side of the sentry box, and mounted higher on the wall. Where many people stand tends to obscure the signs. Overall though, the situation since the signs were installed, behaviour has improved.

I don't think you can blame the tourist too much, people have always stroked the horses and we can't expect a foreigner to understand all the signs. It's a double edged sword, tourist irrespective of nationality have been encouraged to visit London which includes the Guards, if anything I think for the safety of everyone it would be wise to mark a non-crossable line on the ground or barrier to stop people getting so close.
