Fun story: this once happened to my boyfriend and I from the other side of things. His best friend was in town and so he made reservations for the three of us at a place that was supposed to have great pizza. We got there and the host was incredibly confused since he had already seated our party five minutes ago. Little awkward to actually see the people impersonating us sitting across the restaurant. The kicker? When they finally did seat us and we got to see the menu their specialty was a sausage pizza called "the Abe Froman"

I watch this movie once in a while to remind me of America before political correctness and of the 80s which by all evidence appears to be the greatest decade in American history. I was born in 1979 so I missed out on truly living the 80s, but I live through it with it's movies and music.
@STONESGAM Жыл бұрын
Me too. Born in late 1979 and was a little kid in the 80s but grew up on all of the 80s stuff and always had Ferris Bueller on VHS. I totally agree this was before political correctness and when Hollywood was actually very creative and wanted to entertain and tell great stories. Now they care more about meeting diversity quotas and it's laughably obvious when watching movies or TV. Looking back I think the 80s and early 90s was the US at it's peak in so many ways.

What's the strategy when the real Abe Froman shows up?
@afriendofbean6 жыл бұрын
+IceveinsProductions Perhaps if that happened, the real Abe Froman would have said to that Maitre'D, "hi, I'm Abe Froman party of three for my 12:00pm reservation" and then the Maitre'D would have said "if you're Abe Froman, who are those three people I just seated" and then Abe Froman would have taken some photo ID out of his pocket to prove he's Abe Froman and the party of three. After that the Maitre'D probably would have called the police and gotten Ferris, Cameron, and Sloan arrested for stealing the real Abe Froman and party of three's reservation.
@Jake-vy2bh6 жыл бұрын
One theory postulates that Ferris actually called the restaurant earlier and made the reservation under the name, so that he could look cool getting past the maitre'D in front of his friends.
@afriendofbean6 жыл бұрын
+Comedybuff4000 But if Ferris called and made the reservation that he's Abe Froman, the maitre'd would of trusted him thinking he's really Abe Froman and the party of three and after Ferris said "hi I'm Abe Froman and the party of three" the maitre'd would have seated them and not questioned Ferris. I have a feeling that the real Abe Froman and the party of three made the reservation in person with that maitre'd which is why he's questioning Ferris that he's not really Abe Froman. Then from 2:27-2:29, the look on the maitre'd face is like he's thinking "oh no, maybe I didn't take a close look remembering what Abe Froman looks like."
