Watching this video brings back a flood of memories from my time in Rome between 1987 and 1989. As an asylum seeker, those two years were some of the most memorable of my life, despite the challenges I faced. I found work in Vatican City during holiday masses, which was an incredible experience. However, life wasn't always easy; I often slept under the Colosseum and on the streets. Despite these hardships, I remember those years fondly, enjoying the camaraderie with my fellow refugees and the unique beauty of Rome. This video truly reminds me of the resilience and joy we found in the midst of our struggles.
