Calories intake is important; adherence is the hard part so stick to what you can stick with long term , people are bad at guessing what they eat so plan your meals, exercise regularly and moderately, don't compare yourself with anyone but yourself. Listen to Lyle.

I have listened to several podcast interviews with Lyle these past several months. I feel that he has so much more to say than the hour+ content he has stated in each vid. What a wealth of knowledge. Really enjoyed the ending here. Thanks much!

This is pure gold. Lyle's work has been very useful to me. I also pay attention to Tom Venuto and the Canadian bariatric doctor, Yoni Freedhoff.

good podcast! is there a reason why Lyle mentioned 30-40g of fat for a 130lb female athlete? wouldnt that be a too low?
@harpoon24454 жыл бұрын
Lol, the reason is that Americans are not used to the metric system. He said it right for the 180 lb example, because he was using his calculator probably. But moments later when he did a 160 lb and 130 lb example, instead of multiplying by 0.44 he divided by 4.

I don't understand why for some is so dificult to understand Taubes. If you lower your carb you naturally eat less, usually. Of course you have to see your calories (Taubes also confirms this) but if you keep your distance from carbs you can control better your diet. I myself, if I have carbs in a meal I eat and I cannot stop, if I get out the carbs I usually eat around 300-500 calories a meal and stop.

Teodor Mihai Taubes is just a journalist. Fat is high in calories, easy to exceed daily requirements. Not to mention saturated fat and cholesterol, etc
@toddstuder73887 жыл бұрын
Fat kills appetite, cholesterol is a good thing (unless you read science that is decades old), and saturated fat is healthy unless your diet is already full of (simple) carbs.

@ssdabel7 жыл бұрын
nothing in theory. just in practice its super easy to overeat as its very calorie dense and delicious as if eating heroin.
@Legende877 жыл бұрын
Abel Csabai you can overeat with protein and carbs too inclusive fruit,
@ssdabel7 жыл бұрын
sure, but what do you think you are more likely to consume an extra 500 calories from: whole apples (would take about 8 apples to consume 500 kcals) or from taking an extra few spoonfuls from some creamy delicious nut butter? (would take only a few heaping spoonfuls)
