As one of my favourite podcast hosts, it was funny to see you just nodding silently for an hour. Pretty much how every Lyle podcast tends to go. Great episode, as always, Steve.

Wow thanks so much, but you're totally right I played a very very small part in this video. I had questions that kept popping into my head, but I didn't want to ruin Lyle's flow :)

Definitely the right instinct I think - if you have a real expert talking just let them speak :-). You have great content on your channel BTW - Keep up the good work!

I listen to tons of podcasts on the matter, and i honestly find the ones from Steve just the best. Very often the hosts just talk to much and keep interupting the guest. Good work Steve

Thank you so much Marvin, really means a lot as I try and get the best out of my guests. It's all about them and I just try and lead the conversation if I can.

Lyle can be so "over the top" online (to put it kindly), but he really is brilliant especially when it comes to critical thinking and application of knowledge, great podcast.

You can like him or not but he simply is one of the great minds of the industry :)

No, I actually got you ;P It was more of a generalisation that some love and some hate him. But even when you hate his guts, I think it's good when someone still able to appreciate the work he's putting out. :) Kay, thanks a lot mate and that's exactly what we're trying to achieve with the content we're putting out. Glad that it provides value. Highly appreciate your support mate!

Cool cool bro, I also admire how you have grown your channel as a physique coach or trainer or whatever you choose to call it. I am a physique coach myself, and I'm quite impressed with how you have grown a following and such, and this is quite a motivation in itself. I have watched all interviews, but I have yet to watch a "revive to stage" video. Are these about YOUR journey to stage lean and YOURE advice and opinions, or what are those videos specifically if you wouldn't mind filling me in?

You got it, it's basically a journal to stage ;)

Thanks Steve for another awesone interview! Really enjoy your content. Its also interesting how experts like Lyle McDonald and Dr. Mike Israetel have completely different stances on certain topics. I'm about to finish my 12 week very soon and now I have no idea whose advice I should follow for transitioning into my next gaining phase haha
@NWCalvank7 жыл бұрын
Lyle is almost 100% focused on general population, and Mike is entirely focused on high level athletics, which is why their advice differs on certain topics. It's probably most useful to determine which end of the spectrum your goals are at, and follow that advice. Hope that helps!

Another great and informative episode Steve! How would you approach the transition of a deload week in terms of your core squats/bench/deadlifts/OHP for strength and accessories (weak points) for your new block? Would you drop the weights 20-40% in your core and accessories? And would you recommend your macro nutritients to be at your new maintenance for the deload week? I'm currently doing a beginner program that focuses on powerlifting and bodybuilding. I've noticed a ton of newbie strength gains for my first block. And I'm starting to fatigue as I add 2.5-5lbs per week keeping my form and mind muscle connection for my microcycles; intensity and volume. Thanks so much for what you do, really appreciate your work and these great interviews with these knowledgeable/experienced natty professionals! Cheers!!!

Talking about that military study and practical recommendations based on it, in terms of diet breaks. If the goal is to optimize hormonal levels and muscle retention during a cut, how frequently should the 1-2 weeks of maintenance be repeated according to Lyle or Eric ?
@ReviveStronger7 жыл бұрын
It's highly individual and I don't suppose they have a cookie cutter answer.
@kaydrummond70077 жыл бұрын
In this very podcast he referred to diet blocks being 6-12 week followed by a diet break...

I've been taking my temperature after dieting for 6 months and my temperature is around 97.6 F so that's only about 5% metabolic adaptation for me assuming my normal temp is 98.6 F.

No way that a two week transition phase will stop heavy fat gain. It varies individually: some people need two months transition to go from cutting back to bulking
