I made my first sugar wax after watching a number of your videos and haven't shaved since. My hair finer and easier to sugar now and it takes me less time. I get impatient cause it takes long to sugar all the areas needed to be done but the results are marvelous. I love sugaring. This video was helpful cause I usually overcook or undercook my first batch before getting it right 😅

@@abetweene Hi, I followed your recipe and it turned out great, I tried it and it was good, but my problem is that it didn't remove all the hair, the fine hairs such that on my fingers and some on my arms in different areas, I tried cleaning these areas again and adding more baby powder and used new sugar piece but still they won't come out and idk why! I apply the sugar in the opposite direction and pull in the same direction of hair growth, it didn't work out I said maybe I applied in the opposite direction so i tried reversing directions but no they're soooo stubborn!! *IDK WHAT TO DO HELLLP PLEASSE* some of my arm is clean and other areas are hairy and it looks HELLA weird 🥲🥲😭😭😭

I tried sugaring for the first time today. Your past videos have been really helpful and for the most part it went well. However I gave up while I was halfway done because I was getting impatient (my leg hair is thick and I made strip sugar on accident) but I will keep trying and I know I'll get the hang of it! I just found your channel yesterday and I am so thankful! I have never seen anyone with the same issues in the same exact spots (foot callus locations and kp on legs), as me. It is extremely helpful watching how you do pedicures and wax as it would be the same way I would need to do it! I was just looking into trying sugar waxing again (I failed at every attempt to DIY and even melted a spoon so I'm just going to buy it already made) and needed a refresher on how to use it. this is the Egyptian waxing 🇪🇬❤ Sugaring is a traditional ancient Egyptian method of hair removal.❤🇪🇬 This technique is safe and 100% natural, using a paste made from lemon🍋, sugar and water. There are no chemical additives and it can be applied on any body part. It's applied to the skin and removes hair in the direction of the hair growth It is called by the local name "Halawa". 😊🍬🍯

Once your skin is used to this get an epilator. You'll _never_ want to mess with this ever again. No mess, no strips, no spills. Just fast, precise, effective, clean hair removal.
@hanajanaa
@hanajanaa 4 ай бұрын
As someone who does both, I actually prefer sugar waxing more. Epilating takes more time to pull and doesn't really grab at fine hairs as much. With waxing, the pain is in one go 😭 I also prefer the "mess" of it cause I just clean up with a warm towel and throw that and the strips into warm water to wash later. I spend more time trying to clean off all the hairs in my epilator... But yeah I totally get the hassle of having to prep for sugar wax, pros and cons really! Just adding my own two cents :>

I literally made candy to wax with… it is definitely on the list of most painful stuff I’ve done so far and I started bleeding, yikes I’ll try the tip with mixing two cooking stages together because my sugar goes from not even a strip sugar to candy in less than a second (I’ve tried to make it right a few times) thank you this is making me try again (and the fact that my mom and I accidentally bought 30kg of sugar and we don’t have anything else to do with it, lol)
@abetweene
@abetweene 2 жыл бұрын
bleeding is normal with waxing. Sounds like your sugar is just overcooked, so cooking it to firm stage will remedy the hardness/stiffening rather than making two batches to mix. Heres a step by step that shows how to test the readiness kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaKyq3d8irWifKc

I have watched your video on how to make sugar a number of times. I was so pleased with how detailed it was. And you are right about how KP can inhibit or affect the hair growth. I have no hair on my legs because of KP. I used to describe it as having "black heads on my legs." But that was before I finally learned the correct name. I was hoping that sugaring my legs would cause me to no longer have KP. I have no proof of that though.

for me the legs sometimes appear to look like “blackheads” from a distance but when i get close up, notice that the hair is trapped under the skin. for me though the surrounding skin of the pores are whats discolored also. so annoying 😅

Breakage is my biggest issue with self sugaring. It then easily becomes ingrowns. But I took your advice of exfoliation and used glycolic acid mixed with my Moisturizer as it was stinging when I applied directly to skin. And I have been using dry brush almost everyday to scrub my whole body. It has removed my ingrowns 100% and everyday dry brushing hasn't shown any side effects so I am going to stick to that to prevent further ingrowns too Thankyou so much for making these videos. Ingrowns were my biggest insecurity. My leg never looked smooth because of them. But now it somewhat does ❤

I tried sugar wax from this channel recipe before (i used cold strip wax) and for the first time my sugar wax concoction worked! I was so excited bcs finally (after many attempts) i have a successful wax to remove my armpit hair and i can store it for a long time! But then for the next removal, my paste didn't work anymore, it became runny and won't stick to the strips i made. I was so frustrated and finally ready to "kill" my once-perfect wax by cooking it again in the pan. As i poured it from the container, i noticed the bottom sugar paste was thicker than the surface (it was so thick i could almost knead it!). So i decided to give it a second-second chance and it back to work!! So maybe if you guys have the same problem as me, maybe you just need a stir!! Disclaimer: i probably made my sugar wax a bit runny, so that happened☺️

Oftentimes cold sugar doesn’t want to stick to my skin… I find taffy pulling it a few times to warm it up and then putting some corn starch on my skin to dry up any skin oils making the sugar slide off solves the problem. When the sugar gets too sticky, using some corn starch also helps it release easier + pressing down hard against my skin before doing a *short* flick tends to get it to come off in one piece without stretching or pulling my skin

I have a lot of ingrown hair because of sugaring. I do everything correctly during the procedure, scrub skin frequently, moisturize. But I think it’s just not for everyone
@abetweene
@abetweene Жыл бұрын
youre right, its not for everyone. if youd like to give it another try though, you may have more success with the addition of chemical exfoliants. scrubs work well once the hair reaches the surface of the skin, but prior to that excess sebum can obstruct the hair’s regrowth, so thats where AHAs and BHAs can help by working within the follicle.

if it was usable then, its the same now, it may just have some condensation from sitting in a hot or humid space. Move it somewhere cool and dry, preferably at room temp, and feel free to knead the sugar in your fingers 1-2 times before application to combine that “seperation”.

Lol, if only arnica worked that well! 😅 Better luck next time, just remember to hold your skin super tight to the point it cant move. If its held tight enough, it wont matter if the sugar works or not. Unless you have an underlying medical concern that would cause bruising nonetheless, holding the skin taut will deter bruises because it prevents the skin from absorbing force when pulling the sugar off (as shown at 1:00 ) If it isnt and the skin is left loose, what happens at 1:03, causes injury and is what makes the blood vessels to rupture.

I love your video's, thank you for all your info, however I do have one question: I cooked my sugar to 260 farenheit.. did the watertrick, to see if I could pick it up, the wax is quite hard, it looks like if it was cooked longer it would turn in to candy, because it alteady has a slight softcrack, how is it possible the wax isn't useble after 2 minutes, because it melts completely.. I dont believe its undercooked, do you know what went wrong or how to fix this? :) 💜

Hey I wanted to ask one thing. I have been struggling with strawberry legs for quite a while . I used 10% urea lotion for 4 months and salicylic acid twice a week and an exfoliating glove once a week. The strawberry legs have gotten alottt better (almost 80%). So I was thinking to start the sugaring method. I wax already but I use Rica roll ons (which are not as helpful). Sugaring softenes the hair so that’s why I want to do it. But there are two ways the opposite direction sugaring and the in direction sugaring (strip one). I personally think as a person prone to strawberry legs I should do strip one cause it’s in the direction of the growth and is pulled opposite. So with your experience can you recommend me and can you clear me out about the other method too? Would appreciate

of course everyone is welcome to do what they want, but i highly recommend always applying against growth and pulling in the same direction of growth both with the flicking method and with strips.

Hi Abetweene these are some Issues I ran into 1. My hands sweat and my gloves ripped 2. I stored it in the fridge 3. It wasn’t sticking to my skin. 4. The consistency seemed fine but the temperature was too hot in the room and plus body heat 😩😩😩😩
@abetweene
@abetweene Жыл бұрын
Hi 👋 ✋👋 1. Use an applicator instead (wax spatula, old card, etc) 2. Store at room temperature 3. If its not sticking, It may be overcooked or there may just be too much moisture or a barrier on the skin. if your skin is dry & powdered, its likely the sugar thats the problem. 4. how is the sugar behaving? whats the consistency? too melty or too solid/firm?

Hi @abetweene, thanks to your videos I am getting the hang of sugar waxing. I am so grateful. However, how can I prevent the paste from swinging up behind my fingers and getting stuck?
@abetweene
@abetweene Жыл бұрын
practice. i kno its annoying, but honestly the more u do these hand gestures the more comfortable you become in knowing how hard to go. Its likely happening because youre using a lot of power when flicking. descreasing how much force youre using will help, but consistency will help you gauge exactly how much strength to use that works for u.

I made a sugar wax that’s hard-ish. I live in a a super hot and humid country. The wax worked the first time I used it, but has not been lifting from the skin when I’ve tried to use it again. Just keeps sticking to the skin even in the first flick. Skin is moisturized daily and clean. But even after applying powder before using the wax, I struggle to actually flick the wax. I got it right the first time, so what am I doing wrong now? Same jar of wax… stored in the bathroom
@abetweene

When you say again do you mean after one flick, using the same sugar again from a previous session, or fresh sugar from the same batch/jar?

@@abetweene The same jar, same sugar, but a different session. And consecutively the next few sessions too. I made this sugar wax last weekend and used it first time on Monday last week, and it worked perfectly. Then used it again on Thursday and it didn’t work; kept sticking back to the skin. Tried again yesterday and it sticks to skin for life. Need to wash it off as it doesn’t flick off.

if they’re still sugar crystals in it, it either wasn’t fully cooked or those crystals are being reintroduced to the mix so try cooking it a bit longer so everything has a chance to melt down and don’t use the same spoon that you used to mix it during the cooking process.

Hi I tried making the sugar wax yesterday and I let it cool for about 24 hours but I’m pretty sure I over cooked it because it’s difficult to scoop it, am I able to fix it by just putting it in microwave to make it softer?
@abetweene
@abetweene 9 ай бұрын
yes, you’ll just need to add a little water to soften it. heat alone is only a temporary fix and can make the issue worse by extending cooking further. also be sure to use a tall heat safe container and microwave in 30 or 45 second increments only or else itlll spill over

yes, you can 👍🏽 microwaving for a few seconds will do the trick too, but if you want a consistent heat so that you can take your time, a wax warmer would probably be more efficient.

My problem was cooking the sugar right. I made 3 different batches over several weeks, and no matter how long I overcooked it, it was STILL too soft to yank, the second I touched it. I tried cooking it to the EXACT temperature recommended (252 F), and it was _runny._ So I tried putting it back on and cooking it again and again until it had the consistency of honey when it cooled (which is what everyone says it should be like). I cooked it so firm, I would have to dig it out with a SPOON after it had been in the fridge, and then as soon as I tried manipulating it with my fingers, it went so soft it was like I smeared actual honey on my leg. Could not flick it off for anything. And I DID have AC on. Anyone have any solutions for that?
@abetweene
@abetweene 7 ай бұрын
with the heat and humidity + your body temp it sounds like it softens your sugar a lot which is totally normal. its usually counteracted by starting with a “hard” sugar paste but it sounds like youve already done that, so if its still very unmanageable perhaps using a wax spatula or wax strips with your sugar would be a better application & removal process for you.

I advise you as an Egyptian to watch your hair removal videos 💜 Try removing leg hair in the direction of the hair, not the other way around Every week, Arabs use the Moroccan bath routine and exfoliate the body with Moroccan loofah. It is best to use this bath before your hair removal routine for the best result and a smooth body without goose skin. Moisturizing the body with butter or oi 💜🌹
