I just moved in to an apartment, yesterday actually. They charge a security deposit and cleaning fee. Before moving in we noticed that it was DISGUSTING and mold in a few places. We had the cleaning lady come back, it smelt like she cleaned but we saw absolutely no difference. It’s like she sprayed Lysol then left. Hence why I’m here 💀

Girl, this is DNA removing level of cleaning! 😂 🙌🏼 The landlord should give you a credit for the work you put in! I appreciate all the tips and tools plus showing areas often overlooked. This was inspiring, relaxing and helpful.🙏🏻 PSA: many GE ovens have a steam clean feature. Just pour 1 cup of warm *distilled* water onto the bottom of the oven--it has its own built-in "tray" like yours and run the steam clean. It does a great job of loosening debris and all you have to do is wipe down the oven.

You had that dishwasher looking brand new! I've never seen anyone clean the dishwasher (and the garbage disposal as well) so thoroughly. It was so satisfying to watch. And I also feel validated because I clean things thoroughly like that. I'm aware that (hopefully) places hire someone to clean an apartment before a new resident moves in. But that doesn't mean that they do a good job. I found 3 size 2T tshirts and a pair of jeans when I moved my dryer so that I could clean behind it. So it doesn't hurt to be thorough in your cleaning.

@ginay4662 Жыл бұрын
I used to manage apartments for years. I wouldn’t let an apartment get rented like this. However, I always did a walk-through with a checklist and went through with new residents moving in, because I wanted to make sure they were happy upon move-in. If they felt something wasn’t clean, I’d either clean it myself (if it was 1 or 2 things that would take me 20 minutes or less to complete) or get the cleaners to come back, if there were more items that the resident wasn’t happy with. Most of the time, the cleaners will come back for free, if the resident (or myself) is not happy with the cleanliness upon move in, at least with the companies I used. I would send the cleaners back with what needs to be redone. Apartment managers pay companies to come and clean, so please let your manager know if they need to come back. This helps out the manager and the management of the cleaning companies (or helps the housekeeping staff, if they have their own housekeepers). This helps the cleaners understand the expectations of the residents and management as well. I’ve managed properties in all different areas, but my standards were the same at new apartments and apartments that were built decades prior. Please communicate with your rental office, if the cleanliness is not to your standards. However, I did enjoy watching this video, thank you!

Girl you are a godsend!! I literally just watched another video that was a move in clean like this. And I was lie this is cool, like good cleaning and tips etc but it was A TON of products and mostly Clorox. I was like dang I need an eco friendly, mostly non toxic cleaning person to watch and learn from. Literally was starting to fold laundry and decided to play something. I was scrolling on KZbin under the move in clean search and came across yours. I don't know what drew me to your video but it definitely didn't have eco friendly clean plastered on it. But anyway I started watching it and literally subscribing, ai swear by Dr. Bronners and I love that you point out what we can use like loofah(never thought to consider compressed loofah as a sponge alternative). Or that fact you use mostly soap, specifically dr.bronners and vinegar and baking soda. Of course there are other products you use but nothing harsh and extreme! Absolutely captivated and ready to learn to clean on this level.

The efforts you and your team put into your 'collective wisdom' is awesome and sure, one time go-around is quick in editing post video to consumer consumption....great messaging, ps baked-on factory enamel can come off bc most off-shore manufacturers are told to make p/obsolenses when in fact, the American consumer wants too pay more for better quality. The previous tenants of my current apartment left this place immaculate. The only issue was that when they filled in the holes and painted them, it was the wrong shade of white and the landlord never repainted (that’s the landlord’s fault) But I was surprised when I went to clean the oven’s vents and they were spotless.
