So grateful for y'all! ABGs have always been something I'm more than confident about. I love it when I can successfully interpret a gas, as well as help my peers do so!💉

I don’t know about you guys but since COVID 19 our ABG counts run per shift have tripled! We need one therapist alone to just run abg’s! It’s been crazy! Stay safe everyone we are in this together ❤️💪🏼

I’m a nursing student and I just want to say I loved your video! I love understanding or getting the bigger picture about what is being tested and how/why something is interpreted. :) 😊

I struggled quiet a bit when we first started interpreting ABGs. I turned to the internet and found Respiratory Therapy Zone and it made ABG interpretations so much more understandable than what I was learning in class. Respiratory Therapy Zone is now my go to when I'm struggling with understanding concepts in class.

I still find understanding fully compensated ABG results difficult. Someone please help

Even if your co2 and hco3 are out of normal range as long as you ph is in normal range, your body is doing all that it can to compensate, so when the co2 and hco3 are out of wack and your ph is normal, you are fully compensated even when your other value are out of range.

Since when did Normal PaO2 changed from...... 80-100 to 75-100 mmHg? PaO2 of 75 is MILD HYPOXEMIA right? I brought this up because the new students gets tested on these numbers and simple differences can be problematic.

Is there such a thing as over compensated Acidosis/Akalosis? If so, how would one know if it's truly a Metabolic or Respiratory issue? Is there another referenced range of a possible over compensation?

Good content you post. I like to watch random videos just to fight boredom and refresh my memory. I am interested in becoming a respiratory care practitioner (RCP). It will probably make it more interesting if you have more content in understanding what exactly a RCP does. Talk about the profession more and put scenarios about the profession. Maybe find another RCP who can pair up with you and bring ideas. I am not sure if my idea is valid. 🧸💕

I am a first year student. And i completely enjoyed figuring out the patients status on looking a ABG values. Whether it turmed out to be respiratory acidosis, alkalosis, and metabolic compensation and vice versa. pH is king and leads the rest.

Very helpful video ABG can be challenging in the beginning, but with enough practice you can understand what's going on with the patient oxygenation, and ventilation status. It can also be a metabolic problem as well. 2nd year student enjoy all the content you put up.
