@@Abigirl_Reacts They released a new EP like a week ago. 2 songs that they released were put on this. 6 songs total. Ito Okashi MyType was released with a MV for the release of the EP. The song itself is cleverly written about the Briggs-Meyers 16 personality types that Japanese people tend to be... obsessed? with dating and otaku/neet culture.

Typically, vocal duties are shared by Yukina (growls, anime-like kawaii vocals, rapping) and Matsuri (guitarist, clean vocals). In this one, bassist Hettsu, who also does kawaii vocals, has a rap part on the second verse, though she is usualjy just a backup vocalist. Hattsu also has an absolutely adorable spoken-word part in their brand new single "My Type," which just came out a few days ago. By the way, English lyrics were added in the comments on the original video page, but were not embedded in the video or CC.

@@Abigirl_Reacts A little of both? It's light hearted and the video is fun and silly, but they also deal with the real problems of sugar addiction. Notice how everyone is enjoying sweets except for Yukina (lead vocalist) who never touches them in the video, but she's tormented by wanting them, even though she knows it's bad for her. Edit: I should add that most of their songs deal with social issues. Their newest video "Ito Okashi My Type" is about the myers briggs personality types test and how in Japan many people take it (way too) seriously. Also, for future referance, their English lyrics are also (at least usually) in the video descriptions, but you need to scroll down below the Japanese. (though a lot of them have English subs too). These girls dub their musical style as "Harujuku Core". The fashion influence is definitely Harujuku. I think it might be easier to break it down into Kawaii Metal-core with rap, punk, and edm influences. Most of their songs are serious, but they try to do it in a fun way. I actually don't think Gimme Sweets is one of their better offerings, mainly for the reasons you listed. It really throws people off on how it's arranged. I really like the song, but I feel like it's something you should listen to after you've heard a bit more of their stuff. LCG Remix 2019, or Reiwa Dating Apps Generation would have been better suited, if you're going to choose something from that album, Patrons. It took a minute for Hanabie to grow on me, but I now generally find it difficult to skip a song of theirs when it comes up on my spotify (which is often). That very high pitch voice represents the small little high-pitched voice that was amplified by their addiction to sugar. Needless to say, the powerful growl is the angry voice, angry over the sugar addiction (and apparently addiction to men too??). The higher pitch was meant to be disturbing (think of how a child acts when not getting what they want, or worse, getting what they want!!). You really do need the lyrics to catch all these. Anyway, I am sure everyone (plus their grandfather) will be telling you about the lyrics being in the description of that MV. No matter. What I did not understand is why you did not want to Google the lyrics up (and yes, Google Translate the whole thing!). True, the lyrics may not be 100% accurate, but it gives you a good indication of what is happening in the song (assuming you can understand the poetry behind the lyrics, which admittedly I sometimes struggle with). So, uhmmm, why not google it on your phone while doing this reaction?? I promise you it's free 😛

Remember, metal doesn't always take itself seriously. Sometimes is just the funny vibe. Take Power Metal for example. Perhaps relax a bit and don't limit yourself to the exact wording of the recipe.

Crazy how divergent people's taste in vocals can be. I enjoyed Hanabie in concert so much, but I don't listen to them much due to the growls. I can't stand growls or rap. I really like when Yukina uses her girly voice instead. Same with several other bands I would otherwise like so much more.

And I love growling, Yukina has it very well, and she learned it herself. The high kawaii voice is not her usual voice either, in life she sounds like a third voice. By the way, in life she is a very modest and cultured lady.

Hanabie - translated as Cold Flowers
@Abigirl_Reacts9 күн бұрын
Oh really? Cool!
@ksmsepk6079 күн бұрын
Excuse me, but it's wrong. Hana means flower or blossom and hie/bie means cold. But hanabie means cold weather in spring when cherry blossoms bloom. それはちょっと違います ハナは花を意味しヒエ/ビエは寒い事を意味しますが花冷えは 桜が咲く春の寒い気候を意味します We Japanese get excited when cherry blossom bloom beauty, and think winter is over and dress lightly and have picnic party with foods and alcohol under the trees. But sometimes it's not warm enough then we get cold.😅 日本人は桜が咲くとその美しさに浮かれて薄着で木の下で宴会する事がありますが、 以外に寒くてたまにそれで風邪をひきます

I'd love to see cherry blossoms one day

@@Abigirl_Reacts We have lots of Cherry Blossoms in Stockholm, Sweden 😁 But yes, see them in Japan would be very nice. There are lots of nice gardens in japan.
@jawosammadennhier70624 күн бұрын
Nope. "Hanabie" is the name of a special chilly *wind* during the time of cherry blossom. Like "scirocco" is the name of a _mild_ wind in Italy, or "Föhn" is the name of a warm dry wind in Germany. The name "Hanabie" has _nothing_ to do at all with _flowers_ .

Find it odd that the little cough thing threw you so far off. It is not in the regular release just the video. Like many Japanese bands they ignore genre and cookie cutter song structures. The lyrics are in the song description and it is not as silly as it seems. It is about addiction to sweets, and negative effects like diabetes.

What do you mean not in the regular release? 🤔
@tackle479 күн бұрын
@ not on the album version of the song, nor does she do it in concerts. It is just in the music video.

Id love to hear the album version of the song! Could you possibly link? Every version I've found has it. Or even the live performance you mentioned where she doesn't do it? Thanks!
