I’ve had mine for a couple of days and I do believe it is one of the very best groove boxes - naysayers are forgetting the most important thing: it SOUNDS better than most grooveboxes at even twice the price. It has the sound of a DAW.

The track limitation isn't an issue if you use a drum rack and resample a track in a pad. That gives you like 16 tracks (one for each pad) within the drum rack track.

Just wanted to say FYI, the automation arm button in at the top of the screen in ableton live actually captures automation while recording. One of my fav features EDIT: just realized you meant with the capture button without pressing the record button. Live does not retroactively capture automation with the capture button the way it does with MIDI. My b

You don't have to use that "in key" setting and can switch it to the classic Push mode to Chromatic via shift 9. It makes the chord problem you mentioned obsolete. I know it needs some work but out the gate it's a great sketchbook with Live Export.

Enjoyed the vid! Note the KO II has always been $299 USD. So it is $150 less. Quick Pro's I see of the Move over the KO II is the ability to trim samples visually, speaker, battery, DAW integration, Capture etc.

I had recording automation feature on my Appleton Push 1, it has a setting to turn this on/off. Not sure when they added it, but it worked from 9 to 11 ableton version, then I sold it(

"Hella portable" lol ur from the west coast arent you, this question was probably answered already but is every internal instrument from live integrated or is it a stripped down version of them and as a someone who doesnt use ableton, is there a draw back when importing your sounds in the device if you dont use ableton to export your sounds specifically drum kits?

Yup haha and as far as melodic instruments it only has drift and wavetable BUT it pretty much has the full capabilities of wavetable so you can really tweak the sounds. And there’s no drawbacks to importing your own sounds.

Can you chain drum patterns? I make grime/drill beats at 140bpm. In one pattern i place a snare on the 9th step. And on another pattern i place a snare on the 13th step and chain them together so the secend pattern plays after the first. I currently use a teenage engineering po-33. Create multiple variations of patterns and chain them together. Is this possible on the move?

Sweetwater has them too (customer service is meh), which is good if you wanna get expedited shipping and you’ll be protected if there are any issues caused by the factory/shipping. Ableton’s website says there may be delays in shipping the Move.

I just wish Ableton would give me a couple faders… recording automation with faders gives you different shapes than a rotary dial. Plus, doing chops while djing with rotaries doesn’t feel right.😅 Long live the apc40 I suppose.

On Note, if you move knobs while it’s playing, you can capture that into automation in the clip after the fact. I’ve seen videos of it working the same way on Move. Not sure the exact requirement of button presses, but it does do the same “let it play, jam on the knobs, capture what sounded cool”

​@@Sarah2illi got mine today. I absolutely dig it (have had Digitakt, mpc one, mpc live 2, sp-404 mk2, Push 2). It is my favourite groovebox for sketching of all of them - and that is what i want it for. DAW in a box i would go mpc live 2 or Push 3 (but they are also much more expensive) but I have found at that point i just want to go use a DAW - and then the Move as controller (perfect!) Built-in Mic, Speakers, Rechargeable battery and really nice pads (looking at you Sp-404 mk2...). I simply don't understand why the manufacturers don't do this combo more. So many of us are couch-players, have kids, day-job. The Move gets me to make some music even with that. You can also resample the output, and I use a drum rack for bass (16 notes feature) and then have 15 more sounds even if it isn't full on tracks. It works great for me and it is the easiest quickest machine i have tried. I would consider Digitakt if it had a rechargeable battery and mic and speakers. So many people seem down on the Move - if they try it and are open, i think they will be very surprised how much they will like the Move for Just creating some ideas and then finish in the DAW.
