The sandwich was from Surdej bageri, which is translated to sourdough backery 🥰 and all the houses in Skagen, Denmark are yellow because a former mayor brought the wrong color of paint - but now it is the trademark of Skagen 😅😂

Thanks for the video. I can't wait to go on my Baltic cruise next August on the Celebrity Apex. I was sad that Norway was cut from my original itinerary I had on my 2020 and 2021 Baltic cruise that obviously got canceled. Now I am going solo without my husband, but it should be fun. Love your videos. I told the cruise director of your videos on my Celebrity cruise last week. He was anxious to view them.

Wonderful video and editing! Several years ago I met one of Denmark's most loved celebrities... The classically trained pianist and comedian, Victor Borge. He was such a kind, sweet and very funny man. His humor is kinda old fashioned, featuring him clowning around on the piano. He performed in concert halls and his videos are on KZbin. So, that's my connection to Denmark... How I wish I could visit. ☺️

We scandinavians have comepetitions all the time about who is the best contry at sports, but especially on ski, but also just who the best contry. I love your energy. I love Denmark! I trained in Brøndby Halle rink in Copenhagen for a few weeks when I was competing, and had the time of my life! I stayed with a wonderful family, and visited Aarhus with them, as their daughter was in a competition there. Amazing country, and the people couldn't be nicer. Aarhus is a major university town, so I'm guessing that's why it's so lively. University towns always have good energy! I also went on exchange there by ended up going to Lyon. Aarhus looks lovely though, would love to go some day!

If you come back to Aarhus, then try to look up "Den gamle by" it is an outside museum, with old Danish houses, stores etc.. I am from another part of Denmark and go there when I am in Aarhus 😊

Yesss make sure to go to try the water first and foremost, it’s incredibly pure. Go to Braud & Co and eat as many pastries as you can, I’m vegan and I ate them all with no stomach troubles afterwards, the purest foods you’ll ever have! Reykjavik Roasters has the best oat milk lattes. If you’re able to be around on a Tuesday night randomly, check out a bar called Veganaes, they have the most fun karaoke! Rent a scooter and cruise over by the water to see Harpa Concert Hall, it’s beautiful, the architecture in that city is breathtaking. There is an ice cream shop near the rainbow road, I can’t remember the name but they have an adorable white door, it’s all pink with rainbows inside, their vegan ice cream is the creamiest most delicious stuff you’ll ever taste. There is a plant based restaurant called Mama, right near the rainbow road as well, everything is phenomenal but the cheesecake, wow! Those are just a few of my Reykjavik favorites but if you’re able to rent a car get out and see all the waterfalls along the Golden Circle! We can’t wait to go back, Iceland is magical.

You actually pronounced the cities better than most people! Skagen has a silent g and Aarhus is pronounced differently depending on the danish dialect. In Jutland (where Aarhus is the “capitol”), the double A should be pronounced like you have a hot potato in your mouth, almost like an o. Anyways, so happy you’re enjoying our beautiful country and our pastries ❤️

Staffing is so short. Industry wide short 40K because of visa wait times and Covid vaccination requirements. So it makes sense for them to limit staff off ship as Covid is surging up again.

It's great to see you really enjoying these ports - and soaking in the beauty and culture of the special places you're visiting. My husband and I are world travelers - and particularly love Europe. We'll be returning to the Nordic countries ourselves later this year and can't wait. FWIW, I much prefer when it's just you alone in the videos as I find most of your cast mates to be rather shallow and their constant cackling to be annoying. When it's just you, we get to experience more of the beaut, serenity and ambiance of where you are, and the joy of what you're feeling/experiencing, instead of a group party. Once you met up with them, I could only watch a few more minutes before I had to stop. Again, FWIW - just IMHO.

@@jbauth It piqued my interest, so I looked it up. The Anchers were artists in Skagen, and they were prominent members of an artist colony there. After their daughter died, she left the house and art to a foundation, which turned it into an art museum. So now you know why Skagen has such an artsy ambience!
