I think I95 is named for the long interstate that runs from Maine to Miami. It is called I 95. Great video.
@hushpuppy33 жыл бұрын
Yes, I-95 runs from the top of the US/Canada boarder in Maine all the way down the east coast to Miami. That main hallway for crew/staff on the cruise ship is also referred to as the I-95 because it runs the entire length of the ship, uninterrupted.
@morrispearl99813 жыл бұрын
And the end of I-95 is right near (across the causeway) from the Royal Carribean Headquarters.

I second the question about personal items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant...We always tip anyway but this would be in addition since I understand that shore leave is tricky and the items in the shop can be a bit expensive. Would this be of use? And what would being in a ship in dry dock be like? Can you still skate?
@jbauth3 жыл бұрын
yes absolutely personal care items are much appreciated!! dry dock vids coming soon :) yes I am still skating!!
@janine363 жыл бұрын
We’ll be on Adventure soon. We always do the daily ship tips for crew, but we generally tip in addition to that. I’ve heard recently that tips are always appreciated (obviously), but that with no shore leave that personal care items (deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.) and snacks are actually even more appreciated. As a performer, I realize that tipping doesn’t really happen for you, but do you know for crew, such as room stewards, spa staff, etc., if they have a preference and what might be most needed? Thanks! Also, smooth or crunchy for your peanut butter?
@jbauth3 жыл бұрын
i’d say personal items and snacks are most appreciated! :) I prefer smooth but I love all kinds 😇

You're lucky that your cabin inspections are monthly. At Disney, our cabin inspections are weekly, however even though I am Youth Staff we come under entertainment we got twice-weekly cabin cleans where we receive fresh linen and towels.

The crew / staff mess reminds me of my days working for a Las Vegas casino. We had an employee dining room that worked about the same way. As I worked graveyard, it was a bit different. Because so few people work at night , they had a chef run a graveyard special station which changed every night. While casinos are open 24/7, there are few staff members outside of the public areas (being in IT, I did work where computers were, both in public areas and behind the scenes), and the lunch times are staggered, meaning there aren't too many people in the dining room at any given time. When I was on Adventure in August, I talked to several crew members about the shore leave thing (notably the spa person and my dining room waitress; I had time during my massage and ate alone at late hours, so they weren't rushed). If shore leave is still off, do you know of crew members would appreciate gifts of toiletries or other items (along with the regular gratuities) ? Also, do you have to wear your mask while in the crew areas?
@jbauth3 жыл бұрын
this is so interesting to read, thanks so much for sharing :) yes i’m sure crew members would be thrilled to receive personal items/snacks things like that on top of gratuity given our circumstances... and yes we do

My quick question when you are able to get off the ship do you have an apartment where the ship ports in Florida? Also I am think of applying for a job on a cruise ship. Is there employee car parking at the ship port? I just graduated college this past May and thinking of doing something in events or be a youth counselor.

What I am interested in is your skates. I know professional athletes are very particular about their equipment, and yes, I consider you a professional athlete first, an entertainer second. Did you have to provide your own skates? Do you have more than one pair? Do you have any issues with maintaining them, or what happens if a skate breaks?
