I have tried everything but the SysEx dropdown menu only shows "No Output" even when my modx is connected and everything is set up according to your tutorial videos :-(

I see 'No Output' by default in Project Settings > MIDI > General > MIDI Thru, but the ability to select the MONTAGE/MODX appears after there is an external MIDI track in the project targeting the instrument. Before there is an MODX track, I see the following options: - No Output - (Folder) - Input Notes - MIDI Click Now I click the [+] button to create a new track, select [External MIDI], disable the 'Use External Instrument plug-in' option, then select [MONTAGE/MODX Port1 - All] as the MIDI Destination and hit [Create]. Now, the Project Settings > MIDI > General > MIDI Thru instrument option offers me all sixteen MIDI channels for the Port1 of the MONTAGE/MODX, along with an option to not specify a channel, which is what you want to select.

Hi, thanks for uploading this, it's a great help! I have my montage since many years, but use I'm new to this and I actually just need to use the montage as a midi keyboard, not so much interested if the sounds in the end are created by the montage or by logic. I noticed that the recording sounds the same (if I'm not mistaken) if I just mute parts 2,3 and 4 on the CFX Concert. If I mute those parts, doesn't that mean that it will not send data for those parts to logic? In the piano roll of the midi recording at least appear less little blocks and I don't notice any change in sound of the recording... isn't that an option? Am I missing something?

On CFX concert, the MIDI for all four channels is identical, as it’s representing a single instrument, so it doesn’t matter if you mute any parts. It’s a different story with a performance that contains several instruments, like DJ Montage or similar.

@@KierDarby another little question: once the recording is done and I have midi and audio track of the same recording - let's say I'm off beat and need to quantize, is that at all possible? Because the audio track will not be affected by changes that I make in the midi track once the recording is done....

@@J9flyJ if I understand the question correctly, you could quantize the MIDI, then delete the audio and record the audio alone while the MIDI plays back
