I had the classic version, I bought the 30th one and damn, it is soooo beautiful ! Not only the buttons but the controller colour is just wonderful ! Much nicer than the classic one. I really love it and not to mention the box, even tough it will be kept apart, it's such a lovely packaging

Yeah it is, I agree. Until I made this video I honestly didn't realise just how many countries don't have Premium as an option, only Deluxe, which doesn't come with streaming :/

When i got the PS5 I just didn't have enough money to get a second controller, so I logged in with the playstation app, connected a PS4 controller, my brother used his account and voila! We played fifa 23 using a PS4 controller wich you can't do on any PS5 game, although this worked, it depends on the game I guess

I had to send my Portal back under warranty after about 9 months. One of the sticks just suddenly stopped working on its vertical axis. There have been A LOT of people that had the same (or similar) issue. Glad you haven't though!

Well its a good option if you didnt have a portal yet aka me. My local store actually didnt have the normal one in stock. Now I was probably gonna go with the 30th anniversary one anyway, so im not mad at all about not having a choice. I really like the colour and design !

@TheGameFatherUK yeah! Well technically I had to preorder it but they still had preorder numbers. So it was the only way for me to get a portal. I also managed to get my boyfriend one too as a surprise for xmas...then the update was announced and I'm even more excited to open mine on xmas too.

I didn't have/want a portal but when the 30th Anniversary went on sale I decided to get one. I actually use and like it way more than I expected to. I'm playing games I normally wouldn't sit down and play over my main games

Okay so the question is what happens if you don't have a premium account but you do have a PlayStation 5 how would it work? Would I still need my PlayStation like on?

Yes, outside of Premium (cloud streaming) the Portal will stream from your console to a Portal via your local network. You don't need any kind of subscription for that, just a free PSN account. But your console does need to be on (and ideally in rest mode once you're done).

@TheGameFatherUK i think i'll just go with the basic model. As much as i'd like the ps1 skin design i think at this point i'd only get it for vanity reasons - i don't dislike the portal design as it is now. It suits the ps5 which i like

Hey there! You can get Bluetooth audio to work on the Portal but you either need to put up with a noticeable amount of latency or have very specific equipment. The Arctis Gamebuds are very nice but they use the SBC Bluetooth codec which suffers from fairly significant audio latency. You can buy 3.5mm audio jack transmitters that plugs into the audio port at the back of the Portal, but if you want as little audio latency as possible then both the transmitter and the receiver (headphones) need to support the same low latency codecs such as AptX. I did some testing a while back, the latency was just too off-putting for me.

If you're streaming from the cloud, then it doesn't matter at all, it just needs to be connected to the internet. If you're streaming from the console to the Portal, then they do need to be connected to the same network. However, I'd strongly advise that the console is hardwired into the network if possible. Having the Portal and Console on WiFi can be problematic in terms of network stability (unless you've got a quality router and good coverage where it's being used).
