The Pulk allows one to carry a 30 pack of beer deep in the forest, of course in an insulated bag to prevent freezing...that coupled with a bottle of whisky should supply all your beverage needs

S m a r t construktion... Own that pulk, but I have no dragsystem. Now I know how to make one. Do you think it´s possible to use a regular wide leatherbelt or is a backpack needed?
@MaryannHazel6 жыл бұрын
Great videos! And I really appreciate you sharing your setup. I have something similar, and I cross the poles, but I'm struggling with keeping the pulk from dragging me down when traversing the side of a hill (yes, it is rather heavy with wood for a fire). I tried some angle iron that I screwed into the bottom, but it didn't work very well. Wondering if you have a solution for that?

Erik님 안녕하세요! It is especially cold this winter in Korea. I would like to have such equipment and go through beautiful snow field s, but I don't really have the environment or culture to live there. Instead, the equipment is used to slide the sled down a family scale, such as an amusement park. Erik walks through the snow field.You shouldn' t get depressed. Take care of your health and stay warm.

I built a pulk very similar to yours years ago to pull our daughter on the snow. I can't remember if I crossed the plastic pipes though. These are very popular straps in America. Made by Voile skis in Utah state. www.voilestraps.com.

How is this setup when going downhill? Will it stay behind you ok, or have tendency to pull out to the side?

Downhill is difficult. You can hold it in front of you or put a rope under it as a break.

Looks cold from here :p good stuff dude enjoying your videos :) Also was curious would it be viable to over modify and use the sled as a sleeping mat in a way? to get your off the bold floor? like adding a thermo mat to the sled, given its long enough for you to lay in/on

Q: Why did you cross the pipes from left/right, right/left?
@thewildhood7 жыл бұрын
Shorter turning radius than if the pipes are running parallel.
@geoffnepo7 жыл бұрын
I believe it’s the same principle as the rear steering in turn maneuver
@johnmoore52939 күн бұрын
If you have the pipes parallel they form a square. If you put a load on a square it collapses easier than a triangle which gives strength. Triangles are used in bridges aand towers. I also agree it helps with turning / tracking.
