The kett remind me of the various empires that humanity has had throughout our history; they conquer others, assimilate those they've defeated into their own beliefs and culture, while taking aspects of the conquered peoples culture for themselves.

They likely perfected their genetic engineering in their home system in early years of their tech expansion, conquered any civilizations in their system, and managed to last a long time. I personally think there was either a major expansion mission, or a diaster that made them send a fleet to Andromeda.

The Kett is an Empire that little is really known about. I'm hoping Bioware can expand on the Kett showing or detailing their political and social structures. It would be interesting if the Kett had a full on societal culture of unique worlds, containing cities of different social factions. So while imperialism using exaltation (which they believe is a gift to be given) is a common value that bonds them all, I'd like them to have their own depth of culture, history, law, society, and not just turn into some one dimensional force of indentured military only bad guys. Just my opinion though

I want one big section to be Kett. Bigger than what Geth got in ME2 and maybe ME3, relatively speaking. I definitely do not want the main plot to be primarily about opposing the Kett, unless their history somehow wraps into the conflict with Jaardan etc. But even then, bleh. I'm okay with them as a big texture to much of the Andromeda galaxy, but even their story potential, to me, isn't that great and steals from where I'd want others to get more elaboration (MEA sucked at representing Milky Way races interestingly except for the whole 'they're different, these ones want to explore and colonize another galaxy!' parts)

I liked fighting Krogan again (in a more polished form than ME1, and more interesting than ME2). And I look most forward to more attack-based 'Remnant' machines. The Kett mutations don't have me as curious as I would have been about Reaper husks types.

What I am most curious about is how long the Kett have existed and if perhaps they control their own galaxy and are colonizing Andromeda themselves. Remember that the Milky Way species get wiped out every 50,000 years so it's not unreasonable to think that the Kett could have a 100,000 to possibly millions of years advantage. I think the Reapers mistake was that they limited themselves to the Milky Way galaxy. If they really seek to impose their version of order then they should have set up the same system in every galaxy that they could find.

Oh they already answered this the kett control at least 12 species of andromeda that arnt yet fully exalted there known as vassal races And the milky way has at moment depending on choices, multiplayer and cerberus news about 19 living sapient species so in theory if the kett were to fully enslave the angara theyd have a empire of plus them selfs at least 14 species under there banner. so in short the kett are kinda running the andromeda galaxy at this point more likly then not

​@deltahunter4810 Now that, is a very interesting theory. That could be a very good reason as to where they came from, why their tech isn't as advanced despite being so similar. Considering the reapers are possibly eons old, and the cycles happened every 50,000 years, it's possible that thousands of species rose and fell. Surely a handful of them had the idea to send a colony fleet to a far off system. That could be the case for the Jardaan, too. Or other species in future installments. One species I'd like to see return, is the Protheans. And that may be a good way to do it. Imagine the Initiative finding a Prothean city, that isn't a ruin for once.

That wouldn’t really work, because once you’ve been exalted, the _you_ from before is overridden by a newborn Kett consciousness. Think of it like a caterpillar being used to gestate the eggs of a wasp; when they hatch, the larva eat the caterpillar from the inside out, until they’re strong enough to leave. Now apply that same thinking to Kett exaltation, and you won’t be very far from the mark. It’s not an option, really; just a trussed up, more expensive way to die.

@@roolio227 Completely different. With Werewolves and vampires, it’s still you following the change, just with added quirks. For Kett, all of the memories and knowledge of the previous organism is entirely overridden. That’s one reason why they keep slaves and prisoners instead of exalting everyone they catch; they don’t get anything useful out of exalted Angara, so they need pure versions of the species to feed them intel and help them activate the Remanent.

The Kett are basically a unoriginal recycled combination of Reapers and Collectors. The Archon even sounds like Harbinger.

The collectors had nothing interesting about them. They were just protheans, that's it. In ME2 you find out NOTHING about them but the fact they were once the protheans and they served the Reapers. Atleast the Jett have SOME tidbits of their own history and are an actual empire.

The Kett come off as unoriginal and incompetent bad guys with the motivations of a Sunday cartoon villain. Angarans are good and Kett are bad. The Initiative, despite being the outsiders and engaging in what amounts to colonialism in space, are undisputed good guys, bec. reasons. Andromeda had so much potential and Bioware squandered it with lackluster and very uninspired concepts. Its a brand new galaxy where anything is possible and yet the best they can come up with are the Kett? Not to mention how the Remnant are just Protheans 2.0

The story is mediocere as hell when compared to the previous games but i still. Find it interesting i never played the previous mass effect games but i have seen videos of them and I like their lore. Plus the Turians are my favorite mass effect species if in the next mass effect. If it gets made given andromedas's poor reception. I doubt they could even get there. It took the Hyperion 600 years at light speed to get to Andromeda, and that was super costly for the entire Milky Way to do.

Andromeda sort of feels somewhat to similar to the original trilogy if you think about it... the kett sort of reminds me of the collectors, we don’t really know much about the Jaardan just like some people didn’t know much about the reapers in the first mass effect, and the remnant is like the geth pretty much in my opinion the geth and remnant are like robotics both created by some other species, We don’t know much of the jaardan just like the reapers in the first ME all we know is what they look like, kett and the collectors are just savages capturing ppl and other stuff

In gameplay it feels closer to Mass Effect itself with lots of exploration. As story it is Space Western with conflict between settlers and natives being central and one of native "tribes" is imperialist and very hostile to other. Add the fact that leader of hostile "tribe" is also a traitor to his own people. My view is that Remnant might be off-shoot of Reapers. During millions of years they have existed they sent recon probes to Andromeda and their job is to establish conditions that encourage intelligent life and Remnant are like mass effect fields in that they can be built and adapted by species that do not understand them completely.

u say its easy that thanks to SAM, now play as Shepard, where melee attack r like resident evil knife, not even can kill ur self xd, and apart only use one skill and wait cooldown, and than use ur next skill, and don't use all ur skill points to make u almost like superman xd, and dont use all skill to make weapons lighter, only one class, combat, bio or tec. believe me, kett r superior on battle ground, they r at level of Turian, Krogan and Asari, besides... biotics dont make much damage on them xd, on trilogy u use biotic and u r like a God, u killthem quick with kett its bettet use tech skills than bio. bio sucks on Andromeda xd, only works against wilky way races, against kett and Roekar, r just such useless

I like to share an interesting theory, What if Jaardan created the kett, and somewhere in their distant past the Kett turned against their creators, and jaardan choose to start over and decided not excelarate the angra evolution, which would might also explain the scrouge released so they could protect their newer creation. but I also think the kett could have been created by the protheans or are protheans who were studying bio genetics or cloning but for what ever reason left the milkyway maybe it was outlawed, or even a splitter group of the leviathans who were trying to outrun their own machine creations the reapers, we know the leviathans are an apex race who used others lesser species to serve their needs. remember Javik told Shepard the protheans were made up of other races who also called themselves prothean, but the jaardan could also be the Inusannon since they played with science even the protheans could not understand, and they were a war like race

I don't think the jaardan created the rather they tried to wipe them out to create more experiment races. only this time the kett won and kicked them out of there system. but not before making the kett infertile. if the jaardan created the scourge why is it drawn to the remnant tech more than any thing else which is theirs, make more sense to have it target kett tech, I think the scourge is the work of someone else who did not approve of the Jaardans actions and interfered. the jaardan had to hid meridian for some reason, the kett I don't they come close to a reason do so.

I was thinking along the lines of the prothean empire doctrine of enslaving every race they come across and were responsible of the disaster that happened on the kett homeworld

Wrong - the (known) character most important to resistance against the Kett is the Moshae. We don't know who started the Resistance, but it wasn't Evfra. Moshae was the one to make the earlier kett, Remnant, and Scourge discoveries that kept people alive, through just much more slowly declining, until Evfra in more recent years encourged the angara to more actively fight back. The angara regard scientific discovery almost religiously, so Moshae providing more discovery than anyone hoped, resulted in the reverence we see. Evfra, to compare, is closer to a recent successful commander, and one that already has been part of discord since we see the Roekaar rise. But both Resistance and Roekaar revere the Moshae, and the angarans opt for pacifism and technological curiosity (albeit with a spiritualistic approach) in general, and no surprise, given their possible 'biological memory'. The kett are biological beings using technology religiously, and the angara are techno-biological being using technology spiritually. That, along with such 'Tech' focus in our protagonist and even design like squadmate abilities, has apparently, for this game or multi-game arc, shifted a lot of focus from 'Combat' to 'Tech'. A setting without the Reapers to keep civilizations 'in line' (by the most brutal of force), under the belief that they'll all eventually create AI that will result in their extermination. (Haven't seen that yet for kett unless there's a secret subjective discovery about them, and haven't seen that for angara though maybe there was a sort of loophole in their history.)

also in The Milky Way at least we learn what where how when and why what the Reapers are and how many years they been doing what they been doing for the Kett and The Angara rarely nothing where they there when we saw the "Golden Worlds" as they were meant to be i know we arrived in Andromeda 634 years latter what year did the Kett get there how long have The Angara been there when you talk to The Angara they say they been at war with the Kett for years lost worlds everything almost so when we spotted the golden worlds 600 years ago where they still at war or what at least with the Reapers we learn their plans and motives know how long they been doing it every 50,000 years why there doing how they were made ect where they reside we kinda went in Andromeda blinded only because 600 years ago it was a perfect spot to support Human life thats one other thing i dont get for Andromeda every trailer we seen every word we herd it talks about finding HUMANS a new home why did the other races go again?

asari biotics are natural they don't use implants like the other races cause element zero is on their native planet they evolved with it for over 50.000 years. and the omi tool is tech not natural. humans you might be safe with cause they need implants so the kett will have to replicate that. by the way nexus smile you are aware that some krogans, turians, salarians are biotic as well, just not prevalent enough and hold different rolls in their sociality, eg the turians don't like them in military and are used as last resort in their own biotic squads

Hmm, if I was honest they disgust me, but don't get me wrong, as villains or antagonist if you prefer, they are simply amazing. on a personal level, I very much dislike them, i wont go into why because I'm not here to start a whole flame wars. But as antagonist in the Game, they are amazing, and something that I found very... umm.... "Villains" lets go with that. Though at the same time there was a line in Aya where you can see 3 Angaras debating, after you rescue the Moshae, and if you respond they basically say something that brings to mind of, "Oh right, the reapers also did the same with us killing our own huh?" But maybe that was only me. So yeah, I hope that answers your question.

I didn't care for the kett at all. They were a boring and rather cliché warrior race enemy. The original mass effect trilogy gave a really good sense of making the reapers appear to be an almost unknowable and unstoppable force that was going to swarm over you and absolutely crush you under their proverbial boot. The Kett in Andromeda are a small expeditionary force that is having just as much problems as the Initiative in getting around the heleus cluster and almost no understanding of Remnant technology despite having been studying it for over a century. You can't honestly tell me the Kett empire hadn't created some sort of AI of their own that could be used in the same way as SAM.

Michael Vinson I got the sense that they are against AI because if you talk to the AI on voeld it tells you the kett insulted it, wanted to take the knowledge from it and then destroy it. I don't think the kett like the idea of AI, maybe it's something to do with their religion or AI rebelling against them in the past.

There is precedent set about organic races ending or postponing (depending on what character/faction you'd ask) being destroyed by AI, by using some evolution of themselves to prove themselves stronger than the AI they face. For now. If 'exaltation' 'saved' the kett from AI, and they kept altering themselves in directions to support this belief, there we have their 'religion'. It would also fit into the theme of the Archon researching SAM and the Remnant being a sort of 'heresy', actively or not.

Their goal of "assimilate all life" and their constant talk of "you have a great destiny and blah blah blah" just makes me a bit bored. When a certain Asari companion gets drunk and congratulates on "spitting in that Archon's ugly mug" and "living to tell about it," I would've loved the option to say "Oh, that mug of Archon's is ugly alright. Plug-ugly, Amirite?"
