I FINALLY decided to try out HAIR PAINT WAX. I thought it would be helpful to include a wear test & to share my thoughts on this product. I tried my best to give a very thorough review.

Okay, Ive used the product , and tried the mofajang one . I have 4A , more 4 B and a little 4C. It didnt flake for me, or transfer once dry, let me tell you why. When applying this , your hair has to be saturated ,and more vulnerable. Example , like when done with a wash and condition. Do not dry it and then wet it again, . The cuticles close up. I apply after my wash ,condition, then leave in condition. And still while my hair is still 85% wet , I then apply before the hair dries. 2) You cannot use gel, or another curl enhancer, with the product because it will flake. There is too much coating . The hair wax last me like 2 weeks without flaking. I am speaking from experience. When I used it the first time, and then waited for about 3 days , and put oil in my hair , it started flaking. The wax clones, whatever is gooeyer. The curl enhancer or your hair that is more drier. Whatever it clings to , is more wet. So try it again ,without the gel , and the drying first. Also I use much less ,while its still wet , because it spreads onto the hair better. You know how it is , leave in conditioners, onto wet or dry hair? Anyway , the wax will do the trick of the curl enhancer, I have that same one ,and love it. The wax ,lets the curls pop!. Its great. But when I use my hair wax, it does not flake until , I m ready to wash. The longest Ive left it on, was for 2 and a half weeks, and thats because I wanted to change the style. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I wish I would've had this knowledge before uploading. I tried the wax out 2 different times & it wouldn't show up as vibrant as I wanted it to, so I just added more product to it. I wish the website would have come with very thorough application directions because I went into this blind & both times I used the product, I didn't care for the application. It is beautiful for photos, but it flaked too much for me. Maybe I'll try it again in the future.

It doesn’t flake on me. I wash and condition my hair, then apply curl cream and gel then the wax. No flaking/problems at all.

One of the reasons why it flacked was because you used gel if you use gel wait till it dries and break the cast then damp your hair and put it the hair paint wax.😁🤪

it flaked for me when i used cream moisturizers under (leave in & curling cream). my second attempt, i just used a liquid leave in & mousse & it got great results.

Man, I’ve been wanting to buy the red wax for the longest. I’ve made plans to rock the wax over the summer but I can’t get over the fact that it rubs off. Thank you for this review! It helps to have a second opinion 🤷🏽‍♀️🤗

I used the red in the hair paint wax. I wore my hair down in a twist out. It was cute, but I wore a cute grey and lime dress with a lime shirt underneath. That was a bigggggg NO, NO. That color was all around my neck and the neck of my shirt. Must wear dark colors, but I luv hair color and I will try other colors though.

I typically will use it AS a gel. Instead of using eco, I'll use this when I want color because it has an amazing hold. Also, it's not the best for a whole head of hair. I usually use it in strands. If I do a full head, I'll only use a light layer, which isn't as vibrant

so I'm trying it for the first time today, only been about 3 hours (after a wash, cantu leave in conditioner) and that is it then the color, and I dont' have flakes etc and I'm able to touch it and it is not coming off on my hands, if you are putting oils, and gel, (gel flakes)

okay back, i tried this last week, kept it for 8 days and washed it out, it's very easy to wash out at least, I only put a little cantu leave in, then the paint on my hair, NOTHING ELSE, but I still had some flaking though it was only when I was separating or fluffing back up my twist out. I did not like the blue over all for my face, but WOULD try another color for maybe a few days or special event. It didn't rub off on my pillow case and I often wore a net, not scarf. However it did rub off on my headband. I just would use it for long term if you play in your hair a lot, if you style it you WILL have to wash your hands again. Maybe it would not flake if you putt it on with 0 other product, don't know. It washes off of the sink and hands very easily too. so i'd give this a B also it is a styler in itself so you dont' need other stuff, it made my curls pop and every them really defined for the entire time it was in my hair

You should try Crown Paint Colors, it's a black owned temporary hair color business. Maybe do a comparison to this product. The colors look beautiful as well as you queen!!!

With this product, I only tried blue but it didn't flake for me. However, it was super and I do have HP hair so it was always oily to prevent dryness and split ends. It did run off on my shirt and hands a little, but it washed out

maybe you should try using a dryer to se t it after you apply. I used "as I am" and there were people that said that they had some color transfer but I had no transfer. I also dried my hair with a blow drier a little bit to set the color.

Next time use less gel about a dime size amount and then shingle with the paint wax after using the gel and always keep your hair moisturised with water, you can spray your hair with a spray bottle and with all that water you’ll see little to no flaking.

Hi, after gel and paint wax, are you saying you can continue to wet the hair to keep hair defined and work the colour in so it blends with the water better to combat the flakes? Can you clarify please?

christine1962ful during application process, the water makes it easier for the paint wax to glide on the hair and it also slows down the drying out process. The wax getting too dry on the hair is what causes the flaking.

When I used the red mofajang wax the first time, I was heavy handed with it to achieve a vibrant look and it transferred and flaked everywhere. But the second time I applied less of it and it wasn't as vibrant but it did not flake and barely transferred. So maybe when using this with other products try applying the wax lightly 🤷🏽‍♀️ it won't be as vibrant but it will still look good.

Oh yes it does! I think those not experiencing flaking whether they used gel/not used gel etc has either used a good combo of products/no product (s), , applied on wet hair and have a good appliance and distributing amount & technique. We just need to have an easier way of narrowing down how to avoid the flaking with more experiments so we can figure it all out!
