Thank you for the reaction! I realize that it is a pretty tame song, and lacks a bit of the WOW factor. I just think it is a great example of the band's range. They are all over the place as far as style. "Forsaken" off of Night is the New Day is quite a bit heavier. I am really glad that you are open to exploring everything these subgenres have to offer. Most reaction vid creators stick to content that represent the extreme ends of the spectrum. Thanks again!

From this release Id also suggest Birds it has a faster tempo and rocks out and then Atrium its very melodic upbeat and radio friendly. But if you want the best of their material My Twin, its the song that defines the band so freaking great. Night is the New Day is probably my cd from them there isnt a song on it that I'll skip perfect headphone music the first song Forsaker is heavy af with these chill vocals and just oozes of melody.

I also hadn't done a dive into Katatonia, but I will need to... particularly their older stuff, apparently the first 2 albums were death/doom. They remind me of Swallow the Sun, who I've put as one of, if not my favourite discovery through your reactions. This was really good though, but having some harsh vocals too would've added another level of interest to me.

Katatonia is one of these -90's bands, that pioneered at least two genres of metal. Their debut ep "Jhva Elohim Meth" and debut album "Dance Of December Souls" were melodic black metal and the second album "Brave Murder Day" is death/doom feat Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt on vocals. Another album that started something great. After that they moved in this gothic style and some might say they are somewhat leaders in it as well.
