The night after another unsatisfactory New Year party, Tim’s (Domhnall Gleeson) father (Bill Nighy) tells his son that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time. Tim can’t change history, but he can change what happens and has happened in his own life - so he decides to make his world a better place...by getting a girlfriend (Rachel McAdams). But as his unusual life progresses, Tim finds out that his unique gift can’t save him from the sorrows and ups and downs that affect all families, everywhere. From filmmaker Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral), About Time is a comedy about love and time travel, which discovers that, in the end, making the most of life may not need time travel at all.

This is literally one of the most heart-warming movies I've ever seen. Its tone is really balanced and you really get a perspective of the main character's development from a young man to a family father. Everything is really well thought and executed just as well. Truly a masterpiece.

There are so many brilliant details in this scene. It starts off with Rory being told off, but the second time, the other lawyer is actually slightly more impressed by his paragraph. In the convenience store the cashier isn't seen in the first scene, but she is in the second, showing Tim's positive interaction with her. He also buys something extra the second time, sending his total from 4.24 to 6.23. This film is so successful at being so incredibly subtle that it really encourages you to go out into the world and find the small details that make life so great. Absolutely fantastic movie.

My wife and I watched this when we were dating 8 years ago. The scene at the end with him having breakfast with his kids is LITERALLY my life right now (2 kids). And it makes me so happy. Also when his dad is like "we all get old and tell the same tale too many times". That's so true. Brilliant film.

hang on. as those who wached the movie will know. this is only the next to last formula to happiness. The movie ends with Tim adopting the new system of only living each day once, but looking out for the small things that we miss or take for granted becouse of stress and then stopping and taking the time to appreciate them. I think this last advise from the from Tim (or Richard Curtis) is the only realy usefull advise. one that we can all adopt to get more injoyment out of eachother. Chears!

It's not about going back in time, it's about our day to day life, and how we ignore simple delights of life.We always live in the past (regret what we could have done, or what we had back then) and ignore what we have in the present, and how beautiful our life is. It's about living in the moment, so you won't regret in the future.
