TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS ABRSM’s recommended tempo for this piece is 116 bpm, as played in this video, and a steady pulse is required throughout. Dynamics are straightforward, but watch out for the numerous accents, which add a nice bit of attack to the phrases. Pedal markings are very specific and written in the music only when required. The closing bars don’t have any rit. (slowing down) markings, although it will be good to hold the final paused chord, as indicated.
