Oasis was THE biggest band in the UK and insanely popular in most of the world in the 90’s and early 2000’s but completely underrated in the United States. They had record breaking sales and historically large concerts. Main singer Liam Gallagher and main songwriter Noel Gallagher still continue to make great music in their separate projects. But Oasis - Don’t Look Back in Anger is a must!

I remember noticing that back then as I was mostly listening to US rock and not really that impressed (with certain exceptions like REM, B-52's, Pearl Jam, etc.) and then I started hearing all these British rock bands and felt like I and most Americans had literally been living under a rock all that time (pun most definitely intended). If you look at the history of rock the Brits were basically doing most of the heavy lifting from the 60's onward.

This time period in the mid 90’s was a fantastic time for music. Thanks for covering it and please do more 90’s. For us GenX’ers the 90’s was when we finally had music being made by our own generation and not Baby Boomers. Most of us were in the 20 to early 30 year old range from 1990 to 1999. We were becoming a major force in the economy, the job market and in music.

I hate to say it as a Gen X'er in your age group. 90% of the time when we would invade a bar/pub after work we were jamming out to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, remnants of 80's New Wave as every radio station under the sun was playing this stuff that was "almost" as good. The issue I always had with 90's rock was that EVERYBODY had to have their own sound and it was one of the first social venues that has led to the complete fracturing of our society and it led to the Vanilla decade 2000-09...

liams voice 1994-1998 is what we call 'biblical'. after that he really lost it for a long time and now he sounds alright again, but nothing like that peak period...one of the greatest front-men of all time. the audio is loud because the final mastering was just brickwalled (basically turn everything up to 11). this entire album was brickwalled and was noticeably louder than any other CD released.

That “saw” is called a “bow-saw”. It’s literally a saw and a violin bow. Bend the saw, and, depending on how much you bend it, when you draw the bow across it, is the note that you hear. It’s heard a lot in Louisiana Bayou type of music.

This is one of my favorite songs, it just transports you to "a better time" if that makes sense. A while back I googled the song and according to what I found, Noel Gallagher, the song writer said "Wonderwall" describes an imaginary friend that saves you from yourself. I don't know how accurate that is as there have been many thoughts on it but it kind of fits the tone and lyrics of the song.
