She kept herself away from treatment. When her ex cleaned himself up, she still couldnt. She shut herself out. Literally the song "rehab" is her shutting people out. When Amy died, It was the second time I can ever remember getting emotional at the death of a musician. The first was Freddie Mercury. To this day I cannot listen to 'Love is a losing Game' without bawling like a baby. Amy was the real deal. Uniquely gifted with that voice, a world class talent gone far too soon x

Amy definitely had a very unique voice. Yeah what a tragic story… So talented.. She kinda reminds me of Lady Gaga & Joplin. You can tell she was going through something right here.. Sad what drugs can do to you. So young and gifted💕

I read that Amy wrote "Love is a Losing Game" (my favorite) in 30 minutes while sitting at a bar. She was the last true musical talent in a sea of boring mediocrity. Her originality and creativity was a blessing and her early passing a tragedy for music and our planet. The flame that burns twice as bright lasts half as long. Amy was an musical inferno.

I'm just listening through your videos, and I never know what to expect, but the moment you said "Amy Winehouse", I teared up. I am still so angry that they kept pushing her on stage, making money, feeding her poison, and they didn't save her life. Nobody saved her. She breaks my heart, and always will.

That was a perfect introduction. Amy at her most raw, vulnerable yet best. Every generation has someone that is born a star, a pure talent, and Amy was one of those stars. She burned so bright, so briefly and her story was so tragic. Her incredible gift, her voice, was also ours. She was a phenomenal vocalist and artists. R.I.P Amy.

Makes the hairs stand up. There's a particular genre in music little heard of today, namely the 'torch song', Billie Holiday was a classic example, as is Amy. The music and lyrics define angst, heart break, despair in the raw manner which Amy used. She had started getting to grips with her drug addiction in the months leading up to her tragic death but drank way too much and died due to aspirating her vomit in her drunken 'sleep'. I didn't particularly follow her career though always enjoyed listening to her. Another songstress I greatly admire is Taylor Dane. Her 'Love Will Lead You Back' ought to be just another cheesy oversentimental ballad, but her vocals elevate the lyrics beyond slushy. Also, check out UK songstresses Alison Moyet and Annie Lennox.
