Batman does use his money to help Gotham. Both through the Wayne Foundation and the technology he uses to fight villains. In fact, given that Batman has saved the multiverse, one could argue that he's spent his wealth doing the most good objectively possible.

One thing that stood out to me about Absolute Batman's design for Alfred is how closely it resembles Ra's al Ghul (minus the facial hair). I wonder if that'll be a factor that hints towards Alfred's relationship with this version of Bruce. Or maybe I'm just overthinking lol.

Gorilla-shaped batman standing at the top of those steps, menacingly, while surrounded by unconscious thugs (2:27) would scare me off crime if I lived in Gotham. The man's built like a tank, and he's menacing for it. The following shots of him fighting sell that menace. If DC can figured out how to tell a good story, then maybe good times for the comics industry are coming back.

@univeriseman80083 ай бұрын
I get it. Darkseid made his own universe to rule over. But come on this is just waaaaaay too basic on the dark and edgy spectrum. Plus it's not even about Bruce since Alfred is the main character. The new spin on Bruce would require 20+issues to go anywhere cuz as is we are told he isnt rich but, the end. A statement isn't exploration of what it means to not be the mainline rich Bruce. Party animals in the first panel they are mentioned in are generic psychos who we are told bomb daycares 😑. Most of what they do is stated from other people's mouths. Alfred as the jaded hit man soldier would be interesting if his monologues weren't repetitive reminders of that fact. The art though is nice and clear. And the pacing is straight forward but would benefit to trim down dialogue and panels to provide deeper insight into more important matters. Dialogue is run of the mill corny superhero dialogue. I don't get the hype. In comparison to what the big 2 normally put out for a staple line yea it's good. But in terms of overall storytellig quality it's meh. Leaves a lot to be desired.
@shadowspider93 ай бұрын

@@SageOfLimitlessHands the comic literally doesn't do anything note worthy with Bruce's friends and the fact he is working class. If it did then a of these reviewers wouldn't sound similar as they go into detail about it. Justsomeguys review didn't just like the rest. A quick sentence description of Bruces current state isn't a deep dive. And because of that fact he can't say more than it And yes Synders dialogue is the definition of corny. He is trying way too hard to get that street cred for a setting where it's safe haven for psychos to roam around who we are told even kill babies. But when we first see them they speak like run of the mill minion grunts. The Absolute line is just a return to the dark and edgy 90s

I just checked it oout, I think the writing style and flow are very good, but the set up isnt anything special. The gun removal is weird and so is Alfred walking around withought a mask, if it set in the 90s or early 2000s it makes a lot more sence but I dont know where its going to go in long run. The bridge thing seems stupid, the fighting is meh, outfits and explosions are good but the politician at the end and keeping black barbera gordon tells me all I need to know about how susseptible the story is to political fing around. Ill check in from time to time but things have to be way more pittiful then I thought for this to be impressive for today
