The one thing I'll say about Amazing 59s cover is that its a pay off from the last page of 58 where Tombstone rams him through a window. I think it's really cool that it's the last page leads into the cover of the next.

I did really like Absolute Batman issue 1. I love how this Batman who LIVES in Crime Ally works in the streets, cleaning up the mess he makes. It kind of fits the grungy feel of Gotham and it’s a fun idea to tackle. By the looks of it Snyder is taking elements from Earth Prime Batman and adding them to other supporting cast/villains. Joker is the billionaire here which is fun. We still don’t know who he truly is though which I think is key. Alfred found out Bruce is Batman right away which makes me think Alfred is going to be the World’s Greatest Detective and Batman himself is just an anarchist using what he can as weapons to state his message. I didn’t love this issue like how I loved USM’s first issue because that was just enough little nudges with big reveals and twists to read into that made me love it. This didn’t have as strong of a message as USM’s first issue literally representing the quote “a man as two lives, his second beings when he realises he only has one”. Now, the main one. Did the origin work? I say absolutely yes! The classic Batman tale is Bruce feels guilty because it was his fear that made the Wayne’s leave the theatre thus getting them killed. Here it was Bruce’s creativity that took the school to the zoo thus getting his Dad killed. His mother is still alive and I’m interested to see how Scott plays with that dynamic. Was he closer to his Dad because he saw him more at school? Does a kind hearted and more feminine perspective on life make this Batman calmer and kinder eventually. Lots to think about and play with and I am a big fan but again, I think if we are comparing what Absolute Batman and Ultimate Spider-Man are doing I preferred USM’s first issue

i’ve never seen a terminator movie or read a terminator comic, so the comic honestly wasn’t for me and i kind of don’t get it. but as someone who has been a comic pop fan for over 10 years i believe, since the tv little house days, i’m still happy to support sal in this way and will be picking up the next 4 issues too :)

There's going to be a meet up at the Zapp comics booth on Friday with Ben and Sal. Ethan may not be able to go to NYCC this year. Also, there is going to be a second meet up on Saturday with Sal and Tiffany at Zapp Comics. Owen likes comica will also be there on Saturday at the booth.
