Tiekka, I love this workout and your wonderful teaching method and the music. I'm 66 and danced as a teen. Now that I'm retired, I purchased a standing barre and am so enjoying it all again. Watching my 94 year old mom lose her balance and flexibility, I realize how important it is for us to maintain flexibility at ANY age, but especially heading into the "golden" years, when good balance can literally save one's life. I have one suggestion: sometimes it's hard for me to see what your leg is doing as it is light in color (in this video) and your kitchen counter is white, so they sort of blend into one another. Perhaps darker leggings? Anyway, this is a terrific class. I've told all my friends about it. Thank you for doing it!

Hi Donna. So well said! Yes, the way ballet develops strength, balance, posture, and coordination is valuable at every age. And yet, with ballet it feels so lovely to work on these! Thanks for your suggestion, I will keep that in mind. Also, please try viewing the videos on a large screen when possible, as this will really help you to see the details. Thanks for the class! I am 22 and never danced in my whole life. I did competitive swimming until I was 16 and have been riding horses all my life (so I am not flexibel at all haha). These steps are all new to me but you explained it so well and the reasurrence is nice that it doesn't have to be perfect😅 I will definately keep doing this as it helps with my posture and I could use some extra workouts haha

Hello from CA! I am 52 and used to dance professionally (trained in ballet, jazz, modern). I have very advanced osteoarthritis in my left knee and my right is stronger but will have to get total knee replacements. Could you possibly do a knee friendly routine? I would so appreciate it! Hi! I understand about arthritis of the knees and wish you all the best for your surgery. In the meantime, it’s important not to do any deep (grand pliés). Generally, my classes tend to be gentler on the knees; however, proper technique & alignment are the most critical elements for protecting your joints!
