from what i understood, the game checks a "Step" everytime a frame happens right? well, wouldnt that make for things like movement faster depending on your FPS?

Yes, I believe that’s correct. FPS is usually locked to specific numbers, and doesn’t change much. You can also use other ways, like delta time, if you think you want to let players change the FPS.
