@ I never said they spent any time with him or knew him or anything. They do clearly like him for Momo though - the way they talked about her past boyfriend is not how they’ve referred to Okarun. And they’ve cheered for him previously. The fact that they call him Okarun instead of the way other people just call him that nerd from class also shows they like him enough to call him what Momo does. I don’t think what I said is really much of a spin - it’s pretty much just what’s happened in the show. I’m just taking it as them liking him.

Aira is literally based on the main character from Sailor Moon. She even does all of Sailor Moon's poses and calling herself a Pretty Soldier/Guardian it's literally a reference to the Japanese title of the Sailor Moon manga. She's also a huge air head like the main character from Sailor Moon. Jiji and Aira exist to force Okarun and Momo to actually confront their romantic feelings to themselves and actually pursue their romantic relationship. Jiji is a goofy goober class clown who just loves to make everyone laugh. He's extremely hyper and ridiculous unless he's being serious about something. All of the main characters are total oddballs who become best friends.

Well this took longer to come out than expected. Kappa are basically creatures from old Japanese folktales. They basically look like turtle monsters. Those types of creatures are called "yokai". There's a lot of anime with yokai in them. I'm surprised you guys haven't reacted to much shows with yokai yet. Like the Yo-Kai Watch series got quite big in Japan. Glad to see Jiji here. To not spoil much things; he definitely brings some spice into the group dynamic. I'm excited to see him in action in later episodes. You guys are loving the slice of life shenanigans more than yhe chaotic action lately? Maybe you should try checking out some slice of life anime more. I recommend "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken" & "Makeine". The main cast are teens in high school are probably a thing because its a popular genre in Japan. There's a lot of animes & mangas centered around teens in high school for a reason. Its a miracle that I've found a few anime centered around adults. Its funny seeing you guys forget that they keep getting their clothes destroyed in their battles. Along with Ken's catchphrase.

I usually gravitate towards realistic, relatable, mature themes. But Dandadan pulls from everything, it definitely is on the weirder side if you're not used to it. I'm caught up with the manga and it just keep getting better, and the sussy baka scenes are pretty much non-existent after what you witnessed in EP9.

I found these eps too loud. The best scene was the scene between okkarun and momo about their misunderstanding. Because it has some quiet too it. Otherwise its just shouting and crying and its getting abit too much. I hope they treat the next arc with some sense and dont lean in to the ridiculous and miss the heart of the show.
