Dimash is THE greatest vocalist of ALL time, I don’t think there’s any doubt about that! There are two amazing world class female singers though. One is Lara Fabian (French Canadian), she is Dimash’s idol! He got to perform with her, which was a childhood dream come true for him, at Igor’s 65th Birthday concert in 2019. She has had a great influence on how Dimash delivers his songs emotionally. See Broken Vow (Lara wrote this song), Je Suis Malade and Caruso all performed at her Lara With Love concert in 1999/2000. Lara worked a lot with Igor Krutoy and Dimash sings lots of the songs composed by Igor Krutoy that Lara also sang. Another amazing female vocalist is SoHyang (South Korean), she is absolutely incredible! See Bridge Over Troubled Water, You Raise Me Up, Everyone (which SoHyang says is her most difficult song).

Dimash is his own genre. His goal is to mix opera, pop,rock, etc. The drummer in this performance has to be in heaven. At the New York concert, the camera angle shows the drummer absolutely going nuts. I loved seeing him..I wish they showed more. Love your comments.

I wish I had a nickel for every time I've said "I can't even" over the last 6 years. I could afford to follow him around the world for all of his concerts like I want to. I saw this live at his NY concert... the video doesn't do it justice. I had to remind myself to BREATHE. Absolutely surreal. If you really want to shake things up, I'd recommend the "Be With Me" MV. Dimash composed the song and the MV really shows the fun side to his personality.

I don't know the whole singing community/artists but in my opinion I don't think there is another artist/singer that can compare to the level that he sings. There are greats in their own genre but not any I can think of that encompass all genres and ranges. Dimash is unique and one of the greatest/if not the best of this generation.

Another great analysis! I agree with you that today’s music lacks soul. I found Dimash 3 years ago and until just recently could only listen to him. It’s been like quenching a deep thirst. The official video for this particular performance is on the composer Igor Krutoy’s KZbin channel. So I recommend you see that. This seems to be the official video (including the sound) with a Fancam superimposed over it, which doesn’t seem to be synchronised correctly. This is one of Dimash’s solo concerts in his own country in 2019. 40,000 in the audience. Dimash always sings this song at all of his solo concerts, since this one. Igor wrote this song for Dimash to perform at the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus in July 2019. Olimpico is not the location, it’s the official name of the song, it’s also known as Ogni Pietra which are the first two words of the song. Another amazing Igor Krutoy song is a new composition of Ave Maria which Dimash premiered at New Wave 2021 (3 days after Stranger (also composed by Igor)). He looks younger in Ave Maria though, it’s how he styles his hair! So react to heavenly Dimash in that one! He’s an angel! After that buckle up for a song in Russian called Sinful Passion at Sochi 2018 (New Wave 2018, Igor Krutoy (who is the creator of New Wave. invited to perform and then came out of retirement to compose many masterpieces for Dimash, as well as Dimash performing some of Igor Krutoy’s older songs.

Dimash definitely takes “the stance” when preparing for those incredible notes, his posture changes and yes he definitely uses his entire body and his hands constantly. This was composed for Dimash by Igor Krutoy who also composed Stanger. Multiple views, since we have all watched each performance sooo many times 😂. Loving your shock, analysis and appreciation. Dimash also does catchy, BTW, you just don’t even know yet, but you will. Genre just isn't a limitation for Dimash. He switches mid phrase from one genre to another, he even switches word by word if and when he wants to. We are being educated moment by moment in every genre there is (almost...). Some people with no knowledge of singing do not pick up on this like you do so I'm loving your reactions!!

One of the best reactions I've heard to this, that captures both the response Dimash provokes and the technical perfection of his craft. This performance was especially for the second European Games opening, and he's playing Zeus charging the athletes of the very first ancient Olympic games. He's the only one in the world who could credibly pull of Zeus vocally, lol. I rarely hear it pointed out, but note that Dimash's demeanor and body language changes when he goes from traditionally "male" registers to traditionally "female" registers -- his face emotes in a more femme way and he starts using classical female operatic stage gestures. In the beginning the song was called Ogni Pietra (every stone), but later became known as Olimpico. It was composed for the European Games. On his concert teleprompter they write "Olympic song", which is quite amusing

At the age of 2 on stage, age 5 began piano and vocal lessons. Sings in 13 languages. 6 octaves / whistle. Plays 7 or more instruments. Different styles of music in his videos AMAZING... Some bits and pieces, Dimash was born pitch perfect, as a toddler his Grand mother that took care of him would press keys on the piano and he would make the same sound, this was really his first lessons and he could tell if a piano was out of tune, he having the musical genetics was enrolled into a prestigious music school and was the youngest ever admitted at age 5. I would imagine Dimash probably heard his mother's singing in the womb but that can't be proven but it's plausible that his experience started prior to birth. Already watched both other reactions and enjoyed your sincere awe, reminds me of my first experiences years ago. Also musical scholars have said a voice like Dimash comes along only once every thousand years or more. I can truly believe that to be true.
