I've been working on rethinking and renovating my (rented) flat over the last months, and - as an experienced craftista - have of course browsed hundreds of IKEA hacks in the process. Yours are literally the only ones I have come across that not only look really, really professional *and* classy, but are super well explained and doable - even for someone like me who doesn't have access to a fully stocked woodworking shop. ;) Thank you *so* much for sharing all your creativity and know-how with us!

Hack #9, 35:50!: Tabletop Fire Pit! Made a "fire pit!" for my youngest daughter who just bought her first house! So proud of her! Sat in her backyard over a glass of Reisling (mine watered down by almost all ice)--and, she said, "Oh, Mom, what I want is a some kind of central heat for when fall sets in, to set on my outdoor table, for when the weather starts to change--and, we can all sit outdoors!" "Ding! Design to the Nines, Tabletop Fire Pit!" She absolutely loves it! (Gave her enough of the 6-hour fuel to last a year, I'm certain (plus ingredients to make S'mores)! Thank you!

First of all, I have been wanting to put trim on my bare walls with just some light trim but I didn't want to do all that hand sawing with a miter box. I had no idea there were miter shears! Oh my gosh! Then I had a plain dresser like the one you started out with and I was just going to paint it with the same glass knobs. But now I can add that beautiful trim! This was serendipity! I agree that she's an incredible talent, but she's also a smart business woman. I believe that she's doing exactly what she wants for this period in her life. When you are passionate about what you're doing, you have the best job in the world. This is a job, and she works plenty of hours, while she's helping out thousands of people learn how to decorate on a budget. With her experience and talent she could be the most highly sought after designer anywhere that she was. Have you watched other people's videos? Her productions are nothing short of professional all the way. Money isn't the top of everyone's priorities. I am a business woman, who has owned multiple businesses. I owned a major company all by myself, and as a single mother. The money that I made wasn't worth the time it cost me to be away from my children. In my opinion, she's doing exactly what she wants to do, when she wants to do it. I have more admiration and respect for her than most of the millionaires that I ever worked with in my life. She's found a way to have it all.

A solar powered idea that I can actually use! The Summer is the only time we have sun, for more than 3 hours a day, because we have pretty much 24 hours of sunlight. We are so used to seeing Lowe’s carry solar powered lights. We always wonder why they bother because they don’t work where we live, as it doesn’t get dark until winter. Then the snow and bitter cold prevent solar lights from working. However, a solar water feature would be perfect outside our bedroom. All “night” long we can listen to the sound of water and relax. Ahhhh. Thank you! You are very clever like a friend of mine, that’s been a neighbor, on and off, in our husbands former career. She sounds like you and has the same laugh (and jokes). She is absolutely creative and wonderful. Your channel is like me visiting my wonderful Cathy! -She has a lavender farm now!!

This was my first time watching and really enjoyed. Pretty neat stuff. I love seeing people take regular type items and making them into something special with a bit of a unique twist. I am curious about the chalk paint on fabric though and how it holds up to washing. I've never really used it so I'm not familiar with it. I paint on canvas using acrylic so the few times I've painted on fabric, I just add a medium (to my acrylic paint) that's designed to make the paint better for fabrics. It does require heat setting though. It holds up really well.
@melissadeville17033 жыл бұрын
Add fabric painting medium to your chalk paint and then the rug would be washable. A bottle usually costs $2-3 dollars. In my house if I just l👀k at something white it becomes dirty LOL! That's why it would need to be washable for me. Great ideas as always! Love having them in a compilation video. TFS, be 🙏🏼 blessed and stay 😷 safe (whether or not you wear a mask).
