“How to Play Like Stevie Ray Vaughan” Step 1: You Can’t Step 2: Try Anyway Step 3: Bust Your Hand Step 4: It Was Worth It

This dude deserves WAY more subscribers and views. I have been searching low and high for quality blues guitar lessons and this guy is the ONLY one on KZbin who has been able to teach me in a way that’s not overwhelming or confusing. He just shows you what the fuck to do and let’s you get on with your life without stress. My man deserves WAYYY more subscribers and views.

I've learned more licks from just two of your videos than I have from months (years) of clickbait guitar secrets. You're the real deal as far as blues teaching goes. Thanks again Bobby!

114 comments? This is some good stuff. Played it through, practiced it several times. I made several mistakes, made it sound decent several times too. Good lesson. Thank you. This is what it's all about. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Got to give Bobby's course a shout out here. I don't know him, never met him so it's a genuine opinion. £15 pm, cancel and resubscribe at will. Literally hundreds of lessons, all well structured and in manageable chunks. Really good value for money course.

If you don't mind.... What model, year and color is that strat ?
@absolutebluesguitarlessons27224 жыл бұрын
It's a relatively inexpensive Fender Highway One Strat. I think it's 2007 or 2008. I changed the pickguard and pickups. The pickups are Bare Knuckle Apaches.

Cool man, I'm just taking what I can remember and hold on too here cause this is more "feel" than tab. This is just slow it down to .5 playback speed. And it's still too fast to remember it all at once, unless watch it over and over to get the entire phrasing note for note. Thanks man

Curious why the logo in backwards on the headstock? Great lesson tho...- Never mind- just figured it out at the end- you're a lefty and reversed the video for us righties- nice of you- cause it is weirdly difficult to follow along with a lefty lesson- which is weird because it is really just like looking in a mirror

No one can play like Stevie. You may sound close but you will never sound “like” him.
@absolutebluesguitarlessons27224 жыл бұрын
I don't claim to sound like SRV. There will only be one Stevie Ray! While influences are essential in developing one's own style, I don't believe it's healthy to try to sound exactly like another guitar player. However, I feel it's important to analyse some of the best known players' styles. The point of this video is to prepare the player for a live or studio situation that calls for a Texas blues influence, giving them a few of Stevie Ray's more typical licks. I'm not sure if you've done any pro session work yourself, but throughout my 30+ years of live and studio work, I've often been asked to draw from or imitate the styles of David Gilmour, Brian May, Steve Cropper, Hank Marvin, Nile Rodgers etc. Sometimes this is hard to do while retaining one's own style. I'm sure you'll agree it all depends on what the job calls for.
