I've read the transcript of Leslie Ann Downey's torture and s3xual abuse, and it is truly heartbreaking. The christmas song "The Little Drummer Boy" sung by The Ray Conniff Singers was playing in the background (the song was mentioned in the transcript, as was the other christmas song that was played but i don't remember which song it was). It was one of my favourite versions of the song when i was a kid, but at the time i had no idea of the tragedies that occurred. Now, i find it hard to listen to without thinking of what pure hell Leslie endured. What these two despicable, vile, and worthless wastes of oxygen did to the 5 children is disgusting, horrendous and atrocious. They should have gotten worse beatings by other prisoners than what they'd got. I hope the 5 children are resting peacefully, even Keith Bennett, whose body was never found. Im sure his mother is with him now, holding him in her arms.

What is sickening is that the UK justice system let her order from Argos, have a great life inside, and do an art degree and there was a picture in the paper of the mayor shaking her hand with them both smiling! Great documentary. I've seen dozens of documentaries on the Moors Murders, but just when you think Brady and Hindley couldn't be any more evil, you hear lots of new details in this film about how they caused extra suffering for the parents, like refusing to confirm that it was them on the tape so that the police were forced to play it to Lesley Anne Downey's parents. And the fact that Brady and Hindley swapped letters detailing sick fantasies of what they wanted to do to other children for YEARS after they were in prison. And Hindley's letters to the children's parents, full of lies and self serving deceit.
@GradKat
@GradKat 11 ай бұрын
She was a piece of work. Hard as nails - no compassion whatsoever. She wrote to Brady after their incarceration, until she realised it didn’t do her any favours. Then she spent several years pulling the wool over the eyes of bleeding-heart liberal Lord Longford. After she had served many years in jail, a visitor asked her how she could abduct a 10 year old child (Lesley), to which Hindley replied “Well she shouldn’t have been out so late”. She referred to the mother of one of her victims as “a hypocritical old bag” who needed “a brain implant”. I was very relieved when Hindley died in prison; I couldn’t bear the thought that she might somehow wangle her freedom. After her death, the prison authorities had difficulty finding a local firm of undertakers who would handle the funeral; nobody wanted anything to do with the evil monster.

Ian (and probably Myra too) probably got some kind of sick satisfaction knowing that Lesley's mother and stepfather were going to have to listen to that tape recording. That was more than likely the entire reason for Ian refusing to name her as the voice on the tape. What other recourse did the police have in those days? And that poor stepfather, living all these years with the memory of what he heard on the tape that day. God is their judge, not me. Although he's a merciful God, his mercy only extends to those who repent. For the sake of their souls, I hope they both repented. But I doubt it.
@greenman6141
@greenman6141 11 ай бұрын
No god's mercy touched the young victims or their devastated families. The parents spent years being suspected by the police, and therefore everyone, of murdering their own children. David Smith, who put an end to the murders, was treated by the public as though he was a partner of Brady and Hinley's, rather than the person who told the police. He ended up having to leave the country. Brady and Hinley tormented the families for decades with their changing stories, publicity seeking, drip dripping of information and details, true or false, but always as part of endless years of bargaining. And both of them lived for a long time. Where was any god during any of that?

The little boy that wasn’t found who they murdered could be in a wall cavity of a terrace that Bradley rented . One of many rental properties that the two heinous drifters stayed in for a short duration. I remember following the case intensively many years ago. It wasn’t unusual for people to put bodies in attics, crawl spaces and bury people in their own back yards. There was a case in Australia many years ago where a man murdered he’s wife and buried her under the patio all while he’s three sons were at school. John Wayne Gacey buried a victim under a barbecue and he put victims in a crawl space under he’s house. Babies who are unwanted have been put in staircases and stuffed up in the rafters of houses. Women discard new borns in trash cans and dumpsters as if the child is last nights food scraps. You would be surprised at just how many people are buried on the very premises the killer or killers reside in. There was a woman in the United States in 1940 who put a new born baby in a cheese cake package and placed it in the freezer section of her refrigerator. She told her son not to open the cheese cake package. Everything else in the freezer he could eat from except that particular package. Years later when the woman passed away the son had the job of cleaning out the house and putting it up for sale. He always wondered why he’s mother put strict rules on him not to touch the cheesecake package. Lo and behold he discovered he’s new born baby brother in the box. The baby had been in there for four decades. Human beings can do very evil things. Stay safe and protect yourself and your children from these evil predators. These people work amongst us, shop in the same places we do and ride on public transport with us, they could even be our next door neighbours.

I was a teenager on the other side of the world. I recall somethimg about tapes but i dont think the details were available for public consumption. Then later living in london, i recall lord longford's well meaning, but naïve campaign. I think it safe to say that both were irredeemable and if released Hindley would have probably embarked on something similar yet again. Some behaviours are inate. With some affect states therapy is ineffective. A fact. Sad, but a cursed soul whose rôle was to do evil.

When you think about it, the public wouldnt be allowed to know as it would cause an uproar, so it is not so far fetched that she was released with a whole difcer3nt identity, i hope that someone in the right position can find out 1 way or another. The monster Hindly says she was sorry, but if that were really true, she wouldnt want freedom, she would feel that she didnt deserve it after what she had done, i mean things like this, sorry just doesnt cut it!
