The lyrics in this are so beautiful and Marie's voice is, as always, exquisite. After she died Per referred to her "painting" his songs in "beautiful colours" - so true.

Man, I love this song so much. Sometimes I think it's overlooked and underrated. I'm so glad you reacted to it. A Roxette song, I think you'll really like is, Shadow Of A Doubt. It's a bit of a rocker. Marie's vocals on it are so powerful. Especially as she closes out the song. 🤘

Roxette is a duo from Sweden with Per Gessle(wrote most of the music) & Maire Fredriksson who did the most of the amazing singing(RIP 2019 due to brain cancer, she was definitely NOT a drug addict), she had also a lot of other own fantastic songs mainly in Swedish before joining with Per to form the duo Roxette

This song is beautiful and CBB is probably my favourite album by Roxette. Once Per said that Joyride was an album for the American market and CBB for the British. So that may explain the differences in depth and colourfulness between them.

Growing up here in Finland where Roxette was incredibly popular in the nineties especially, these are the songs of my teen years. I was thirteen when this came out and it's still my favorite Roxette song. It's just so layered and well-crafted. I remember being a kid and my mom loving Joyride (that album came out when I was ten or so, I think.) They're just one of those bands that I grew up with and I still hear a bunch on the radio whenever I'm driving. I checked the album release years and realized that they had It Must've Been Love on the Pretty Woman soundtrack, I didn't remember that! That's one of my other favorite songs of theirs and definitely the one that broke them through for a wider global audience. :)

I grew up listening to Roxette, long after their heyday. Absolutely awesome band that surprisingly few people know about. Check out their more underrated songs, it really shows the level of brilliance they had. My favorites are Sleeping Single, Go to Sleep, What's She Like, Dangerous, Breathe, Secrets That She Keeps, and of course, the classic power ballads Listen to your heart, and It must have been love.

Thank you that you appreciate this band, they deserve it, I bought this album on CD in 1994 . In the US they did well with the Joyride album and Look Sharp( I have both) , but now with albums being re-released (on vinyl, a format I grew up with) they don't get the attention as they should in the US as they do in other countries. I love the artwork on the CBB album.

CBB has a masterpiece of a video, I've always loved this song but I prefer the album version rather than the single/video version just because towards the end we have a few additional seconds of Marie ad-libbing a few notes or phrases and that for me completes the emotional journey of this song, but then again one of my favs

For me, this song is about how love works, you remember how it is when you fall in love and you want that feeling to last but it never happen it will always shange, the first period in love is the most pure love there is. We dont judje the first period, if you want to go above 3D, 4D to 5D , in 5D you will have that feeling all the time.

This was one of their most expensive music videos. Namely because... it had to be shot twice! Apparently, there was so much computer stuff going on and it couldn't be fixed. Other expensive videos include Almost Unreal (Brits love that) from the SuperMario Bros OST, where they had to hide Marie's 8-month pregnancy. This was one of my fave Rox songs for quite a long time. And then, Wish I Could Fly from the Have A Nice Day album came along. If you loved this one, you're gonna sh*t yourself with that one, we promise!

My heart is filled with joy! I knew you're doing the album and decided to listen to it earlier. This album is more guitars balanced with acoustic guitars. Other stand out tracks are I'm sorry, What's she like, Love is all, Sleeping in my car and Fireworks. If I had to choose my top 5 Roxette songs, it must be... Waiting for the rain, Breathe, My world my love my life, It just happens and Crush on you. But it's so difficult to just choose 5. They will always be my fave band of all time. They sang the soundtrack to my life for sure ❤️

Hey Anton how was your vacation ? That's a really beautiful song and video... and just to add some information... it almost failed, as the first version got a problem with the audio sync and couldn't be fixed, all the job was lost, this version is the re-shoot, after a lot of tears ( as Per said ) they were out of schedule to record the video again and that was the song that would give the album "the title"... The album that took an eternity to be made... The insurance company payed and the video could finally be made... again, and it turn out amazingly beautiful. About the orchestration, they always liked to add those kind of arrangements to their songs, to keep their music "warm", even when they used more electronic pop style. Interesting that you paid attention to the drums, because I, with so much things happening in the screen, foward and in reverse, lyrics and song that I almost couldn't pay much attention to it... And every time I watch to this video, I think about Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" ( is all about... in the visuals ) . The song title and album cover made the fans think about some rock driven song and they came out with a big power ballad instead... and Wow ! Nice reaction, as always.

Roxette’s road to the top of Billboard’s Top 100 is a remarkable story: An American exchange student brought a Roxette album with him when he returned home from Sweden, and immediately started pestering his local radio station to play it. After they gave in, other stations followed after a while. Until their American label had to start taking them seriously. Roxette was the second half of both Per’s and Marie’s careers, (both had already achieved immense success in Sweden), and it was a conscious effort to break internationally from day one. I think the reason some people disown Roxette is because of the language barrier: Per’s lyrics can be nonsensical and even goofy at times. As a non-native English speaker he tends to choose words based on how they sound in context, rather than what they mean. Some people probably also had a hard time forgiving him for the blatant rip-off off of Heart’s biggest 80s power ballads - (Listen To Your Heart). Personally I’m still flabbergasted he got away with that. But he has never tried to hide his love for disposable pop music - and he never claimed his music was something it isn’t.

Some poor minds criticize Roxette for being "power pop" like It was easy to speak directly to people's hearts like they always did. Is that being "commercial"? Is it easy money? Well, try to do it. Produce a perfect record, with great melody, lyrics, arrangement, and performance that hit people directly in their souls and elevate them. What are you waiting for to become rich?

If you like Roxette's ballads, you should watch Almost Unreal, You Don't Understand Me, Wish I Could Fly, Anyone, Milk and Toast and Honey, A Thing About You, Speak To Me, or It Just Happens. But Roxette also had got an uptempo side, with songs like Sleeping Single, Paint, Soul Deep, Sleeping In My Car, Fireworks, Lies, Crush On You, 7 Twenty 7, Stars, etc. I prefer their live versions of these songs, because they were more rock and roll and energetic than in their albums.
